Reason I ask is I believe OnStar is loosing a lot of us with the hefty monthly or yearly fees when a good amount of us are not DD's.

I do like the idea of buying 'days/single credits' and using them accordingly.

Ive had the car for 5 months and used Onstar twice.

I only drive my LS on weekends. During the week, I use public transportation to commute to work.

I have the safe and sound and plan on keeping it active. I like the peace of mind of having it as I drive my car daily and my 8 month old son rides in it daily as well.

I plan on subscribing to the safe and sound package when my year is up. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I'll be renewing. Its not that bad. I use the directions by Onstar very often. Plus i enjoy the peace of mind knowing I have roadside assistance if needed.

I just wish i could suspend it for 3 months of the winter when i drove it a whole 2 times and really only 1 time i would count. Ill wait till i can get it for more than just $50 off.

Send a message via Yahoo to dahulk
you can talk them down on the price. As a road warrior I find it very helpful

I'd subscribe if it served as a Mobile Wi-Fi HotSpot.

I've had my Camaro a year now, and just decided to cancel/not subscribe to OnStar. For me, I'd definitely do it if they offered a "lifetime" subscription deal, like XM/Sirius does. I called OnStar and asked, but nope... no such deal is available. I like OnStar, but it's too expensive when added up on a monthly basis over the ten years I'm sure to be driving my new Camaro. On the other hand, I've already paid for lifetime XM/Sirius subscriptions for my Camaro, Sienna, and Passat... because I like it and it's a one time charge, and I tend keep my cars a long time.

Onstar actually has some room to discount. I canceled my subscription, and they start giving me deals, discounted plans, with 6 more months of free turn by turn, etc. But i still don't need OnStar, so I ended up just not re-subscribing.

I have a better proposal for you.

Why not have a subscription where you pay by the mile? That way you are not paying for time you don't use.
