Here's a mockup of my driver seat.

Well I got it down VERY light lol. But it has literally 1.5 gallons of gas in it.

I removed the washer bottle and bracket, sun visors, rear seat belts and bracing, floor mats, battery cover, a small cover below the driver headlamp.

I put on Kooks headers with no cats and shed about 18-20 right there. I got titanium lugs, have Falken tires (possibly lighter??).

It weighed 3654 like that.

Then I swapped seats for my kirkeys and swapped the battery for a Deka etx30l.

Money shot = 3558!!!!!!

Not bad for a pig 5th gen. I left a few wrenches and stuff in the passenger seat because my bracket isn't here yet and I wanted to be as accurate as possible. I could remove the rear seats altogether but honestly they are feather weight. I figure with a few gallons of gas ill still be u der 3600. I'm pretty happy!

Is the lift side in front with you in the car?

I'm not in the car for the scale weight. Left side will always weigh more because of the steering column and gage cluster, etc.

My Z was 3800 at an scca race in 2018 with half tank of gas in it. So I shed 175-180lbs give or take.

Do you have the weight of the oem headers and the oem seats?

Are you planning on doing any carbon fiber to reduce weight too?

In post 32 above, you mentioned removing the rear seat bracing. I thought that brace was part of the car's structure. Did you notice a difference in the car's handling?

I didn't weigh any of the parts individually.

I would give it a look for sure, but I'm not spending $1000 to save 5lbs or whatever the case may be.

I really doubt that it's a structural piece. It's fairly beefy, but that is likely because it has the rear belts bolted to it, and in a crash with rear seat occupants, it would have to handle thousands of pounds worth of force. I haven't noticed anything.

If you still have the parts, could you please weigh them - if possible?

Thanks! 😉
