It will leak one day but will it be during your ownership...

It truly is a matter of preference. I do not find the cabin to be cave-like at all and I come from a daily-driven convertible. I preferred the roof lines without the sunroof as I felt it looked "sportier."

My car has a sunroof, but I wish it didn't. You can really feel the extra headroom without it. I got a good deal though, so I live with it.

No Sunroof. Purest designs of any car are the coupe. Sunroof, convertible are always additions to the original design. Just my thoughts. But if you like your convertible , enjoy!! Here in Canada , it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Question...does the sunroof limit rear seat headroom (more than it already is)? Or does it just effect the front seats a bit?

16 SS had one. 17 ZL1 doesn’t. Way more headroom in 17 ZL1 without sunroof. It’s a nice extra to have that killer reverse mowhawk in the roof. I do miss the extra light and the open airiness of the sunroof, but I bought this car to track so no sunroof.

A bird took a big dump on mine last week. Had it been open it would have been inside the car. If it didn't have a sunroof it would be in the paint.

I won't buy a car that does not have a sunroof. No way no how. But that is just me.
Track: I'm not sure where the myth about helmet fitment came from. I'm 6'2" with dreadloks down to the middle of my back and I've had no issues putting on or taking off my helmet in the car with a sunroof. Do I wish it had more room? Of course. I also wish I could bang supermodels every night...but not being able to doesn't make me miserable. Besides, not everyone talking about the track actually go anyway. If they did then they'd know the helmet thing isn't an issue. Looks: It doesn't kill the look of the car. In fact I never even noticed that the hardtops had the bubble thing going on until it was pointed out to me. And even then I still prefer the sunroof. Again, that is just me... Leaks: This isn't the 80s. Leaks are pretty much a non issue. My 2010 had a sunroof and not one leak ever up to when I traded it in earlier this year. If it leaks in 8-10 years, well the use and enjoyment I got out of it makes it worth it. You know what else needs to be replaced before 8-10 years? Brakes, suspension parts, tires, sometimes interior pieces rip, etc. It's not even a consideration. 90% of the people here won't even still have their ZL1 by the time the roof starts to leak...IF the roof starts to leak. If you want the sunroof then go for it. If not then don't. But most of these comments are opinions and made up stories. It is nice to enjoy the roof being open on a 70+ degree night. Even if some of these struggles were legit it would still be worth it to me. |

Imo having the sunroof cracked open is a more aggressive look than no sunroof. Also the flexibility of being able to let in light, not let in light, open all the way for a ton of fresh air, or just crack it slightly is totally worth it for me.

Dealer ordered the car with a sunroof. Had I ordered it for myself, a sunroof would not have been one of my options. However, now that I have a sunroof, I really like it. Coming from three previous Camaro convertibles, the sunroof gives the me best of both worlds. I have all the performance goodies of the coupe and with the roof open and the windows down I almost feel like I'm back in one of my convertibles. A win/win in my book!

Many say this but I don't really see THAT much of a difference or care. Looks are subjective.
I enjoy and use my sunroof all the time. It also helps with the somewhat "claustrophobic" feeling of the interior imo. I could see the lower roof line being an issue for taller people. Plenty of room for me at 5'11.
