The 5th gen is a retro design masterpiece. The 6th gen is watered down and it has awkward proportions at the C-pillar.

I'm just glad I was able to pick up a brand new 5th gen while they were still being made.
Really? To me it's got some sexy angles and you can tell it's Camaro DNA.

When I've driven one, I've never found an issue or oddness with the C pillar. IMHO, an AMC Pacer has an odd pillar design, a Camaro is sheet metal porn.

I guess for old Bob's tastes if it's just smaller and still looks like a Camaro, it should have been bigger and not look like a Camaro. But really who gives a rip, you can't please everyone.

I find the side profile looks kind of like a camaro. But the overall shape and body lines imo look like alot of other vehicles on the road. Nit saying its ugly but it doesnt pop the way it should when you see it.

I like the design of the 6th gen, but this is the second time I've heard it mentioned that it's smaller. What exactly is smaller - the width, the overall car? If it's smaller on the inside than the 5th gen then I may have to seriously rethink getting a 6th gen.

Overall dimensions are smaller ( roughly 6: 189" L, 75" W, 53" H. 5: 191" L, 77" W, 54" H). The interior is much tighter and the rear seats are essentially useless unless you have a quartet of 5' people in the car. Trunk space is tighter, and the entry to the trunk is tighter so getting a good sized suitcase in & out is a little frustrating. It's still very comfortable but it does present some situational inconveniences.

My 2010 I've had my daughter back there and it was livable, but snug. I took my '17 to MA for the week and put my daughter back there again and the wife had to push her seat up to the point that her knees were in the dash or almost so. I was able to put 1 large suitcase, 1 small suitcase, a makeup case, some random shit and 2 folding camp chairs in the trunk. But the big suitcase was stubborn going in and out. Love the car even more than my 2010, and fortunately it won't see that kind of use other than maybe 2x a year if that, but it was an interesting experience.

We took out the '14 yesterday and it was surprising how much more room there was in it. It wasn't as obvious when I was taking the 6th gen out of for test drives, but after owning it for awhile and then jumping in the '14, it was like, "whoa, that IS a lot bigger"

Yeah...really.

Something about the shape of the rear side window, how it kicks up, combined with the lowered height of the rear wheel well opening compared to the front wheel well opening, rear quarter panel slightly too thick, and the way the rocker panel goes halfway up the side of the body is very awkward looking.

I think this is where the "import" comments come from.

Sangyup Lee went above and beyond with his design of the 5th gen. Truly incredible.

The 6th gen, like every other car on the road, has been thrown through the wind tunnel.

I own a '15 model and we don't hesitate to drive several hundred miles to visit family. Very comfortable. Doing dealer transfers in '16/'17 models means I get paid and come home with a backache. Too tight, seat won't recline to a position I can live with and the rear seat is just a shelf that needs to be pushed back a few inches.

Uh , the Stingray definitely didn't keep anything styling from the previous Corvette's . That's why the stingrays and the mustangs are selling like .hotcakes. The stingrays look like an exotic car and the previous Corvette's looks like a sports car.
Most ppl wouldn't even think it's a Corvette because they went above and beyond like they did with the 5th Gen. Ppl love cars that makes a statement.
