L89 power connected to an M22 distributed through a G81 rear... Sublime! Gear and rear! Slightly off topic, but that M22 is still amazing 50 years later.

Are we absolutely sure the torque management is in place for the manual transmission or could it be due more so to a slightly weaker 6thgen ZL1 rear end that was downgraded from the cast iron "Grave Digger" 5thgen ZL1 rear end.
The grave digger is absolutely stronger but it definitely weighs more and it probably robs a few horses in the process. What do you guys think? I'm also Camaroless at the moment and I hope the '19's bring some good pleasant surprises for the refresh.

If they make a Z28 than the ZR1 motor and CCB’s will happen.

I've had a camaro engineer tell me it was a mistake that the M6 launches the way it does, and that a software fix would be coming. They've since taken the position that it's all by design, which I will never believe.
The clunkiness of the menus for launch control and line lock, lack of independent road course and dragstrip modes, and the poor 1/4 mile performance is all evidence that the dragstrip simply wasn't a major design focus for the ZL1. My bet is that they probably didn't discover that the launching sucked in the M6 until it was too costly to change. (In computer simulations it probably launches fine.) I haven't bought into the clutch protection theory. The clutch protection is supposed to be accompanied by a message when triggered. I've never seen a message. Also, people slip the hell out of the clutch to try to avoid the bogging. If it were all by design I'm sure they would have figured out that the design would ultimately result in more slipping/more wear. IMO, it has nothing to do with anything other than poorly tuned engine management during launch. All of the crap they told us about drivetrain protection is just their default excuse for performance problems. I'm still hopeful that the 2019 will be much improved. I'd love to see a horsepower bump and an option for CCM brakes. And of course, some fixes to help the driveability and launching.

I'll be watching closely and this is my hope as well. Unfortunately I'll probably own one before I get to see if things have improved.

No it won’t, because Al O already said the Z/28 is an N/A car.

The manual is the better transmission for the the track, but a modern M22 would not be a good plan there. The ZL1 TR6060 is way more awesome, but there is just no gear whine and no TR6060 legend. I must say watching a fairly quiet 67 Chevelle on Front Street just skipping the front wheels on the launch and the gear whine is a great memory. The M22 was literally money. In summary if there was no M6 bog issue I would have one right now. I think I am okay with that.
