Sprayed with sun screen

I am also new here. When at Radium Car Show we were sprayed with sun screen. Black Camaro 2014 and talked to my body person and told to work on it over winter but would probably need a paint job.

Has anyone out there had any luck in removing this type of overspray???

Thanks for any help.

I've never heard of sunscreen being an issue, but now you have my attention.

sprayed with sun screen? did sun tan lotion get sprayed on your car?? and it damaged the paint???

I would clay bar it good... give it a polish and see what it looks like.

I know I had some bird dropping etch my clearcoat. the factory paint on these cars isn't the best... damages much easier than my other GM cars.

What exactly did the sun screen do to the paint?

maybe he means like a spray tan substance. things like that have oils in them to adhere better. I could see that maybe affecting his tires, but not paint??

Are you talking about like a Banana Boat or Coppertone sunscreen?

Yeah I'm lost here also. Your car got sprayed with a sun tan lotion spray, and it won't wash off your paint?

I've had a number of things destroy my paint. A few years ago, my Silverado was parked near a lawn sprinkler for a few days... the drops from that dried on the paint, leaving some permanent water spots, but worse, ate completely through the clearcoat and into the paint in some places. Left craters of measurable depth.

I had bird crap sit on the hood of my black '82 Camaro a few years ago... laziness prevented me from washing it off immediately, and when I did, three days later, I was left with a bad etching. The glop ate the clearcoat and much of the paint. Required a full repaint of the hood to correct it.

And, while this might seem silly, when I was a young fella, my friends sprayed some festive Christmas greetings onto my car, using Christmas tree flocking. Yeah, I had that one coming... let me just advise the rest of you to never try this, unless you want PERMANENT Christmas greetings to adorn your vehicle.

I don't doubt for a minute that sunscreen could have chemicals in it that might react poorly with automotive finishes.

Dog, that reminds me of learning the hard way NOT to wash a black Silverado in the sun with a car wash detergent that has "wax" beads. turned my truck into a giant black leopard with white spots! had to clay the entire thing to remove it all!

I know the spray suntan lotions stain the fiberglass on my boat a yellow brown that will not wash off. If you lean on it while wet it leaves a nasty stain. I use a rust stain remover acid to bring it back but man it must ruin paint.

Don't put anything on your paint to correct it, that doesn't belong there in the first place.
I was reading about some cheap claybar reviews on amazon and they ruined some people's paint. They said it seemed more like a plastic substance than real clay.
I would try a high quality clay bar with the spray like a mother's brand kit. Followed by a few coats of a highly rated wax. Doesn't need to be exotic like Zaino, I wasn't overly impressed with it. Needless to say use only safe good car wash soap too not dishwashing detergent.
