Water leaking into car
So after hurricane Irma I noticed my rear passenger floor well wet. I have noticed this before but never thought much of it since it was such a small amount of water and I keep water bottles in my car, but after the storm it was more of a puddle of water on the back seat floor. is this a common issue? Will this be covered order warranty?

Sounds like the heater core is leaking.. Should be covered if your still under warranty. Bring to the dealer as soon as you can

passenger side. I called the dealership it could be a clogged a/c hold or the heater core, but its going in Saturday covered under warranty.

Do you have a sun roof/ moon roof ? It could be leaking.
Folks he said it was leaking onto the floor of the back seat . How would water leak from the front seat area ( where the heater core is) to the Floor of the back seat? If it was his heater core he wouldn't have anything left for the engine and he would be over heating also I think he would notice pretty quick that the floor in the front would have a pretty big puddle in order for it to get to the back seat area . It would be sloshing around.

yea i would have thought it was a clogged sunroof drain.
if it was your heater core, it should smell like antifreeze... and you'd know it. and it would be the front seat... not rear. I think you are right... most likely the door or a window not sealed properly. |

Not leaky heater core...that would be anti-freeze, but a clogged drain in the heater blower box can cause water to come out of the footwell vents.
I had this happen on a different vehicle...not Camaro. This recurred several times because the car was always parked outdoors under a maple tree that shed a lot of flowers in the early summer, which can get through the cowl intake screen and then clog the drain holes in the blower box. It was difficult to get at the blower box to clear it out. Good for you if the dealer covers this under warranty. |

It was covered. Leak was coming from the door not sealing correctly.

I would guess the door seal . Or they re-aligned the door .

Did they list the part# replaced on the warranty/invoice paperwork (wondering if it was the plastic liner that is glued on inside of door frame before the panel is installed or a rubber seal)?
