Rick -- Reconditioned is an understatement. That is very impressive.

He did an amazing job on that restoration I only wish I had that type of mechanical skill.

Just got a new truck to haul minnows from the farm to our business. The last truck was a 1986 Chevy with 689,900 miles. We got all the good out of that Chevy. Hope this one does as well.

I had a nice day today. The drive up to Clarksville was nice. The meeting was decent. We were out by 12:30. It was a beautiful day with temps in the 70's. The meeting was just a mile of two from my in-laws house so I went by & spent some time with them. Then drove over the see my dad. He looked pretty good today. It was snack time & I managed to get him to eat some salsa & tortilla chips & to drink most of an ensure. He just keeps getting skinnier.

I went of my exercise class today. They have a physical therapy place that does free sports assessments for the YMCA members so I am going to sign up for one of those so they can give me some guidance on strengthening my knees & wrists (former injuries & surgeries) minimizing risk of re-injury. They also have programs at the Y to meet with someone to do physical & health assessments, some computer assessments & help you plan out a workout plan. I'm going to do that too. I still need to do some tweaking on my diet but getting there. I made a new snack bar recipe and it is really good (maybe too good). It has healthy ingredients but maybe too many calories but I cut them into small bars. They did firm up left in the fridge overnight so I don't have to eat them with a spoon, LOL.

Mike's Camaro has been at the local dealership for a couple of days to track down a small leak. It turned out to be a fitting on a coolant hose to the oil cooler. It is fixed & we picked it up but the service manager is still trying to figure out if it is covered under the powertrain warranty or Mike's extended warranty. Our service guy is pretty good to us. I will be taking Ruby in for a radiator flush & a check up since her warranty is to be up very soon. Hard to believe she is 5 years old.

Just a little bit of folding to do tonight. Good evening crew.

No. They are driving home and stayed overnight at a Hampton Inn in Goodlettsvlle, which used to be the host hotel for Chevell'a-bration.

Hey Twisty!

That's cool Rick. I'm sure our friend Chuck from ACES was usually there.

Lots of homework tonight. I better get on it. Probably won't get it finished but will work till too sleepy & then go to bed. Hopefully I will have time to finish up tomorrow but it might be fairly busy too. Good evening crew. Getting cold again :(

So tired of Mother Natures teasing! Here in Ottawa, one day temps slightly up above freezing, next day another day slightly below freezing and just a few hours of snow flurries. Will this winter snow ever melt away. Last Feb. coldest Feb. ever recorded here in Ottawa. Not the cold that bothers me but the dirty snow and salt covered roads that works my nerves.

Cat issues and vet bills continue. Reported a few months ago big fat Arab cat Ramses had trouble with his rear legs and walking. $5,000 in tests and vet bills, (including a MRI and multiple X-rays) he loves meal time and still wobbles like a drunk when he walks. Patchet, the female Arab cat, seems to have developed kidney issues. She seems fine but slowing loosing weight. Ramses needs to loose weight, Patchet needs to gain weight. They are my babies so will spend what is necessary to keep them comfortable but frustrated I can not make them healthy.

On the upside, four of my 4th year degree level Interior Design students have been nominated to participate in a prestigious group of students recognized for their efforts in new research based applied design. Issue is students, over two semesters, must research past design solutions for interior environments, develop new solutions. Students, with my guidance, have developed new solutions for drug & alcohol dependence rehab facilities, facilities for people with PTSD and war injuries, improved way-finding at international airports, extended care facilities for older people. Must say I am very proud of my 4th year degree students I have advised over the last year. Students did the work, I only advised and gave direction. Guess most of you did not know the difference between interior design and interior decorating (LOL!).

That's my week. Feeling good today as I am finished with my scheduled classes in 3 weeks.

Camaro going in April 20th for its annual professional detailing, and hopefully will be able to pick up my 1966 Bird conv. that has wintered in a restoration shop.

Question to old farts:
When did you experience your first auto experience as a car nut.

For me, age 3-4 (born in 1951), memories a little sketchy. First memory was about age 3 -4 (about 1954-55). I was in the back seat of a family Chrysler at a stop light, Mom driving. A motorcycle hit in the intersection, landed on our auto smashing windshield. Remember Mom saying to me close my eyes. Still remember the blood on the windshield.

Looking back assume the Chrysler totaled. 1954-55, family went car shopping in our second auto, a 1951 Studebaker and remember the dealership like it was yesterday. Dad bought a new 1955 98 Olds two-door hardtop, fully optioned, turquoise and white. Remember like it was yesterday, as Dad drove away from the dealership I was bouncing on the rear seat, I want the turquoise and white! He turned around and bought the 1955 98 Holiday two door.

At this young age of 4 I was not finished. Remember like yesterday, I spied a 1955 Olds 98 Starfire conv. Brat that I was, Dad returned to the dealership a few weeks later an purchased the conv. for Mom. Soo 1950s, we now had matching his & hers 1955 Olds 98 hardtop and convertible with identical colors.

So what was your first experience that indicated you had a passion for anything automotive.

Driving around Europe, age 7. My dad was a Navy officer stationed in Portugal. He was working for the CIA passing messages via Morse code from the attic of the US embassy in Lisbon.
We lived in a beautiful villa in a small village called Parede, on the Targus river estuary a few miles from Lisbon.
He had a 1956 Buick imported from the States. We used that car to drive all over western Europe. Me mom dad and brother. It was so much fun to be in the honkin Buick driving around all the little cars. Lots of stares and comments!!
After his tour was up and we moved back to suburban Boston, he had the car shipped back. It ended up in the port of Newark, where it sat for a couple of months, mid winter. The block froze and cracked. Boy was he pissed!!
I remember this like it was yesterday.
