The GT500 is a good thing if you are a Chevy guy. Camaro, Vette, both. The current pony car wars rage on and that is good for everyone!
Chevy's response will be better and more capable Camaros and Vettes..... The ZL1 1LE handles the GT 350R on a road course, no problem. We shouldn't be surprised....after years of delays....that Ford responded to the ZL1 with this car. My view is that Team Camaro is already well underway with the Camaro that will top the GT500. C'mon Chevy....get it built!

GM is on the right track finally. Much better than back in the day when they created the C5 Z06 (which was way ahead of its time in performance) and billed it as a track focus car, but would't cover shit. I went thru 5 Z06's, in both C5 & C6 and most had issues. 2 bought back on the lemon law. I was so over and done with GM for many years, but I have to say the ZL1 1LE is bringing me back after all these years. The interior far exceeded my expectations, the performance is there, the components they are using are top notch, and they are covering you on the track. Hurry up Nov., I need the lease on the M3 to be done. |

Yep. I added coilover suspension (saving the original equipment, which will have very low mileage on it) and they give me shit about it.
Well, to F'ing bad!!! If they made a decent suspension , then I wouldn't need to change it out. I'm not bitter at all |

You know we live in good performace times when 650HP isnt enough and 450hp is treated like having an 86 Caprice with a 4.3l V6. Can't wait to see the new snake. Why dis on the Snake anyhow? If it wasnt for the retro redesign of the Mustang in 05 and then the GT500's return in 2007 we may not be talking about 650hp Camaros and 700HP Mustangs. The Challenger threw their hat into the ring in 08 going all in with their top model thus the modern HP wars began. The Camaro has been a little late to the game ,but ultimately became the overhaul best modern (insert favorite adjective )car of the three at doing most of the boxes well. Im sure Chevrolet will have a response if the Snake ends up king. I really do believe however that the there is more to what makes a car speacial than it's specs on a track. There is a lot of history in the Shelby name, and it will always mean just a little more to own one over an RPO named Camaro. Sorry, just the way it is.

They get $4.5k for the spoiler. CF hood, fenders, trunk lid and diffuser will be at least that much. You are already over $79k. The LT5 (and all appendages) is a huge upgrade as well. That's how I arrive close to $100k. $79k? Never. |

$@#!stang started it all. GM and Dodge followed. And you have to wonder if Ford didn't "start" the hp war ten+ years ago...where we be now? Maybe still in awe at 450hp. |

Good luck. I've had a bunch of Mustangs, and love them, but I don't have any confidence in this thing performing or lasting when they can't even make an N/A 526hp car reliable when used as intended.

AGREED!!!
The 3 areas where GM has really made progress is in their suspension damping, chassis, and stability/traction control. Those are 3 areas very critical to a good road car and one that can takes corners well and feel composed and in control while doing it. This is also where BMW has taken a shit. With the exception of Porsche, Euro cars and American cars have role reversed. |
