How many ZL1's will be built each year

I'm curious as to how many 6th Gen ZL1's you guys think will be built yearly on average. 5th Gen ZL1 numbers are as follows: 2012 was 1,971; 2013 was 7,956; 2014 was 2,436 and 2015 was 1,850 for a total of 14,213 and an average of 3,553 per year.

As for the ZL1's "competitors", over 16,000 total Hellcats were built in 2016 and over 6,000 GT350's were built in 2016.

I hope they make more ZL1's than the limited production GT350, but if it follows the low 5th gen ZL1 numbers, that might not be the case. Let me know what you guys think in the poll. I apologize in advance if there's already a thread out there similar to this one.

I think it'll be in the 2-5k range. On the low end...

The biggest driving force behind the answer to your question will be how many people buy them. At $62k+ they won't be everywhere.

In 2012, they were an unknown, and a late-model production (didn't start being produced till early spring of CY 2012.)

In 2013, they were well-established, and huge hype.

In 2014, there were Z/28s to buy, and a new GT500 w/ lots of hp.

In 2015, there was a new generation looming...likely causing folks to wait on buying.

I'm more interested in one due to the fact there won't be as many around.

I hope they build more than people want because I'm a bottom feeder and would like to pay $55k not $65k. It's a performance buy right now at MSRP but there nothing like getting a deal on a depreciating asset.

I'm with you there. If they don't make very many ZL1's, us "poor" people might have to get a hellcat in a few years, instead of a ZL1. They made 25k of them in the first 2 years and I've already seen some in the 40k's used.

I think the total for the 6th gen will be high, its coming into the generation a bit earlier and I think this particular generation will last a little longer.

I think this car is undeniably good, and gm will build a lot of them, sort of like the e60 M5. I have never been a pony car/muscle car guy, and this will be my first American car (I have had plenty of/only American trucks), and this thing is so good that I couldn't ignore it.

I would add to 2014... The Corvette StingRay came out around the same price point of the ZL1 which took a lot of sales away and the rear end was redesigned much to the disappointment of many. The Z/28's IMO were insignificant to the dramatic sales decline of the ZL1 for 2014.

2013 sales 7968 to less than 2500 in 2014.

I think you will have maybe 2000 sales the first year and maybe 3000 to 4000 in following model years.

My 2 cents..

1500 for 2018 and beyond

To much nice stuff out there now.

I agree 100% with the majority being M6 coupes. The A10 converts are going to be much harder to come by.

Yes collector status potential - 2017 Chevy 50th year, First year Gen 6 ZL1, first year 10 speed auto, low production number. All Canadian, automatic convertibles first then auto coupes.

If the information I was given today at Barrett Jackson by Al Oppenheiser is accurate they built at least 267 ZL1'S in the October build cycle. So around 2000 cars might be about right.
