I need a help SS LS3 overheat

Hey y’all, so I recently replaced the thermostat to MotoRad, coolant temp sensor, and the coolant, The fans work great. So basically my car overheat after a ride when i shut it off for 5 minutes or longer it goes above 221Celsius and some times go above 221, wont start as usual and goes into safety mode the service StabilityTrak notification in the cluster, won’t crank like when it’s cold or at operating temperature, any thoughts cause I’m frustrated and confused?

So what is the engine temp. when driving? Did you burp all the air out of the coolant system? Are you running 50/50 mix coolant? Has any type of leak fix been added to coolant? Has the coolant added always been dex-cool? Some coolants mixed with dex-cool turn into gel! Do you have headers? could be heat soak. Also if temps rise when engine running and car parked it is probably your water pump (impeller) issue. Stock thermostats start to open @ 195 degrees. @ 221 degrees f. car should start and run fine, it maybe a different issue. Have any of your ground wires been loosened if yes, check them.

Check for air in your coolant system. Coolant has to be replaced under pressure to assure that air won't get into the system. Air in the system is a common cause for overheating.

Stock setting doesn’t have fans cut on until much higher than you expect, low is something like the 221 you are seeing and high is about 227. I started troubleshooting mine the first time mine got into that range, but it’s how it’s designed.

But is it normal to overheat to this point?

Okay does the bad starter a reason to turn on the StabilityTrak notification on the cluster?

It is not overheat in 221 F. (Boiling is near 245 F)

No,it is usually caused by low voltage in starter.

Obviously the temp is being exaggerated by the bad sensor which is a known issue. Your PCM does not know the difference so it triggers the results. Please change the $14.00 sensor and inspect the wire coming off it for broken ends, heated terminal clips the works. Follow it back to the harness and make sure there is no other issues. Unroll the protective plastic surrounding the wires and if it crumbles..replace it.

I'm with you on this one. Get the battery tested before doing anything else. And sometimes when they check the battery and say it's good it still can be bad. If it's more than like three years old, you might just want to replace it. Also, one more thing to do is add the extra grounds in the trunk and the chassis.

^^^^ Yes sir. This is the most common issue with a hard start. Your coolant temps are on par for normal running.
