Tire Pressure Monitoring System Receiver

I believe i read it is located in the trunk. Anyone able to confirm and where in the trunk it might be? I seem to be going through GM TPMS sensors every year which could be or am i having a Receiver issue. For the $40 for the receiver i think i would like to give that a shot before spending all that money to have my bead locks taken back off and change out the sensors yet again. Its crazy, the pass rear and front drives quit the same day. This isn't the 1st time 2 went out on the same day and wondering if the receiver is causing it.

FYI - it takes all of 15 minutes to change sensors. The tire doesn't even need to come off if they have a hydraulic tire machine. Just break the bead and use the machine to hold the tire down and the sensors unscrew right out.

So hopefully they aren't beating you over the head $$$ wise to change them.

They are charging me based on time...i have Weld wheels with Bead locks and that is a lot of screws to remove and put back...I think last time it was $80 including a rebalance.

ah ok.

Sorry man. $80 isn't completely unreasonable but I feel your pain. Hopefully you get it sorted soon.

I have the same setup as you. My TPMS is always on due to the 23psi cold/26 psi warm pressure in the rear tires. Why worry about it?

my light isnt just on, it is reading Blank for rt rear and front left and will not let me put the car in any PTM modes cause of it so i wont be able to take advantage of the Diff tune i had GM install a few years back.

I see. You are getting a TPMS error msg. Why not take all the sensors out and be done with it. If I am not mistaken, the ECU must read all four or none. None sounds like your answer. I wonder if you could just take the receiver out? Should be an easy test.

Also, I think the receiver is the long black box located in the back of the trunk right in the middle next to the rear seat. It is all by itself. Check this link out:https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...3503204?c=az0x This is the door lock receiver, but it is similar to the one I pointed out.

I guess I can try unplugging it and see what happens. Are u sure it's in the trunk? Is it hidden in a side panel cause I'm not seeing it. I do see the ignition receiver behind the rear seat.

According to the cheapo service manual I have, the RCDLR is indeed the one.

Circuit/System Description
The tire pressure monitor system has a radio frequency (RF) transmitting pressure sensor in each wheel/tire
assembly. As vehicle speed increases, centrifugal force puts the sensor into Drive mode. The sensors send the
tire pressure data to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) which in turn translates the received sensor
data into sensor presence, sensor mode, and tire pressure before passing it onto the body control module (BCM).
Once vehicle speed is greater than 40 km/h (25 MPH), the BCM waits for the first sensor to go into Drive mode,
then checks if all sensors have gone into Drive mode. If one or more sensors does not go into these modes, or
does not transmit at all, the BCM will set DTC C0750, C0755, C0760, or C0765 respectively.

Cool. But, he can't unplug the RCDLR. As I suggested, I would take all the TPMSs out and call it a day.

Noticed something interesting yesterday..As i mentioned before i had 2 sensors fail the other day and got the light and wouldnt let me into PTM.(i also tried to read them with my TPMS tool and no reading on those 2, other 2 read ok). Yesterday i went to try a new tune and noticed all 4 sensors show blank on the dash plus the light was lit. The car let me into PTM plus allowed me to adjust the exhaust through the radio like normal.

So with all 4 not showing up car works fine, but 2 not showing you are screwed. That is odd. When i got home i used my scan tool to see if the other 2 failed and they were fine, just not showing up on the dash.
