Resonators and bottle style mufflers won't quiet it enough for most people.
Thanks for clarifying… I appreciate it…

The jones x muffler does a significant job at quieting the car down. If you want even additional noise suppression, use the double y. It will have the most noise suppression, and it will not restrict the car nearly at all. I would take the tiny horsepower loss if you know you are going to enjoy the car that much more with lower noise

So I have the Magnaflow double Y currently which is probably the exact same as the Jones double Y, honestly for me, I wish it was a touch louder, but not as loud as using resonators so I think the Jones X muffler is going to strike the perfect balance for me.

I just really hate that the Jones 2469 is designed to be an X design and there are some floating around as double Y. That shouldn't happen. I was just about prepared to call you a liar (JK) after ordering 4 of these from different vendors before I finally got one with an X design, so they do exist. It shouldn't be this difficult.

What settings did you touch on the CCM to allow the valves to close up all the way?

Was setting your valves to "stealth" mode on the HIM radio not enough to keep them fully closed?

i left Track alone, but for Sport i bumped up the numbers 1k to 3k rpm by ~50% except the numbers that were already at 100. For touring i put them all at 100 for 1k to 3k rpm. I am still trying to decide if i like Sport as i have it now. I may open it a little..maybe try reducing what i added by 10%. It definitely help though, maybe too quiet

Interesting. That makes me want to pursue purchasing the credits for the CCM unlock on HPT to see if playing with it will help.

So settings of "stealth" on the HIM doesn't fully close the NPP valves in OE form?

It shouldn't be, but then again we all know how it goes when modifying cars. Nothing ever goes smooth lol!

A side note for everyone, I think it is hilarious that we have a 300+ post thread specifically about refining the sound of these cars. Either we are all crazy, or we are all geniuses.

i have to look at it again, but i think i didnt use stealth cause it may have closed it beyond the 3k rpm threshold i desired.

I will say in Track mode my exhaust gets really deep! I will try to get some audio soon. Not sure how well my cell phone will pick up the differences.

I will also say i think the tuning of the valves was made more complicated then needed. Why do we need a table for Open and a separate for Closed? Seems like the possibility of causing a tuning conflict increases if not paying attention. With one table if set to close 70% lets say at 1k rpm, then we know 30% is left open. Why the second table?

Stealth keeps the valves closed under all conditions even Wot.

I setup touring so it keeps the valves closed under all conditions below 4k rpm. That way you never need to use stealth and if you happen to go wot the valves will still open and not put any strain on the system.

I set sport to not close until 10th gear below 3k rpm. That way when you are highway cruising the valves are closed and you can crank the tunes up without fighting the exhaust note.

Track I set to never close under any conditions.

If I’m in stealth and I go WOT the valves do indeed open.
