The V6 to V8 swap will cost ya about $1k (painted and installed) I did the swap for my 2010 V6 to V8 the cost was around $700 for all the parts and painted. I did the install myself.

It takes all kinds...

i personally like the look of the RS and would buy an SS and swap to the rs front end and the hood. The vents do nothing for me. The RS is a clean look. (And why i own one)

I did mine to on my 2012 RS to SS. the bumper cost me $50, classifieds from the H-town forum, 350 paint. took the car a week later to the Chevy/corvette Expo in Houston and won best in class. I had it painted several times since then due to rocks on my route to work during a major construction phase. But the car looked really good. What was funny was watching people do a double take on it when they saw the frt end and seeing the brembos. with the V6 engine..LOL.
It was hilarious to watch.
