Just got SS today, problems already

Hey guys got my night fall grey 1SS and I'm having the following problems, maybe you can help:

1. Reading lamps will not turn off while I am driving the car, is there any switch or option to turn these off so they are not always on while driving. I read the manual and did not see anything.

2. Check engine light on. I noticed when I left the lot that the check engine light was on. Could it be because when I left the lot the car had no gas so they had to brought a fuel tank to fill it up?

3. There is a chip on the seam of the door and I minor scratch on the lower portion of the door. Should I let the dealer even touch this or will they mess it up even more?

Thanks guys!

I'd be going back to the dealer ASAP. CEL needs to be addressed. And ask about the other issues. Not sure why your interior lights are on, but ask your dealer and see if there's something that you're not doing corectly.

Thanks. Unfortunately I had to leave as I am going on vacation for a day so I took the car as is. Very frustrating though

There is a knob by the instrument panel/gauges you can turn up and down. It,s probably all the way up.
The check engine has to be check by the dealer for fault code.

The paint chips is a warranty- dealer as well.

Does that knob control the lights on the headliner? Because those are the ones that stay on.

Also do you think the dealer will do a good job fixing the paint chip/scratch?

Yes, when turned all the way clockwise it turns on the interior lights. There's a detent at the full clockwise position.

There is an ambient light in the middle of the overhead console that does not turn off. Its default on all the time so you have visibility of the center console while driving.

Why would you ever leave with a brand new car that was showing a CEL without having it checked?????

I had an issue (or at least I thought) with the overhead lights. They wouldn't turn off. I had to push the buttons a little harder than I thought and then they turned on and off normally.

Warlock,

Where can I confirm that paint chips are covered by warranty? I just bought a new 2SS and when I was purchasing it I noticed a paint chip. I bought it in Dallas on Saturday afternoon and their paint service guys were not in. I live 9 hours away and had to come home on Sunday. I want to take it to a local dealership but I don't want to have to pay $300+ to fix a chip.
