Trailer hitch

I am considering adding a trailer hitch to my 2SS convertible and was wondering if anybody had any experience with this. I know some of you would consider that blasphemy but I do like to ride bicycles and it would be nice to take them with me. Also, a lightweight aluminum cargo carrier would greatly increase the utility of this car. I would love to take it to Colorado. Etrailer.com has a model for the 2016 Camaro. It is an inch and a quarter with a maximum tongue weight of 200 pounds and a maximum tow of 2000 pounds. Installation instructions state that there is no drilling involved. It weighs 21 pounds. You do have to remove the bumper beam and some fascia.

Errrrr, I would wait for a trunk tie down solution for your bikes (which I hope are Mountain Bikes), cause if they are not per the manual these cars arent designed for towing (i.e. motorcycles, atvs, etc.).

It would be very unlikely that I would be towing anything. I have a pick up truck if I needed to do that. I was just thinking in terms of hitch mounted accessories.

With the hitch you can still open the trunk without having to remove the bikes/rack.

There are some suction cup bike racks that I have seen and have heard good things about but I thought obviously it seems a little questionable but apparently they work well.
