Shipping time frames
I have been poking around some of the other TPW threads. It looks like once they cleared out the backlog of initial cars, the are getting cars from TPW to a ready for shipping within less than two weeks.
Assuming the don't add QC time to the 2017 models, it will be up to the logistics company to find space on trains and trucks then the dealer to install LPO items. A June delivery for some may be a real possibility.

There is a Chevrolet wide standard qc hold for all new model year production for the initial couple of weeks production. This also applies to new versions introduced in the middle of a model year. If a problem is found during the initial qc the hold may be for much longer.
All this is to say expecting an end of June delivery date is optimistic to the extreme. 2016 builds will be shipped during the course of the two week summer shut down. Laborsmith |

No one knows for certain, not even Chevy, but yes, that is what I am suggesting.

I don't think anyone has waited that long for a mass production car that is being readily produced and has been out for months... |

The 2017 model year Camaro is not in regular production and will not be until the 2016 finishes production.

I really appreciate laborsmith's insight and knowledge on this topic. It is a good thing to set proper expectations.
I checked with Becky - as long as the order status hits 4000, shipping continues through the plant shut down. I still like our chances for some late June / early July deliveries for those of us that ordered a model that has no production changes from the 2016. If anyone knows of any production changes that impact all 2017 models, let us know. That would definitely blow my hope out of the water and create a longer QC queue and cycle time.

I think I've heard before MY changeovers often introduce changes to the production line procedures/techniques. Those can cause additional QC holds probably.

The oil pan change is one QC hold issue. Along with if they are badging them with the 50 wheel logo that is another thing. I'm the one with the longest QC hold here by ordering a 50th. The rest of you guys shouldn't have too long of an extended QC hold I would think, other than a typical new MY hold period.

Gonna be making a lot of calls. I might have to get a slightly different-specced car at this point, because if I don't it could end up costing me a decent chunk of change. What a joke. |

That's going to be something between you and the dealer in regards to the deal offer. But once order accepted, 2000 or later status, I don't think you can modify the order. Laborsmith or Becky would know for sure on this.

It's frankly embarrassing that it's gone on like this. It's been an awful process from start til now Will the dealer have my VIN/Invoice at least after the TPW? We can then work out the sales details at least at that point and then probably everything would be okay. |
