Looking at lowering my ZL1 and wanted to know if adjustable coil overs is the way to go?

Why mess with perfection?
The OEM MRC is awesome.

I was told if you have MRC you can not lower your ride, It can break your shocks. I also have a 12 rs that is lowered and I love the look!!

On the ZL1, keep the MRC and just get a set of drop springs. The BMR 1" and 1.25" springs are popular. Detroit speed also makes a great set, but fairly pricy. If you go that route, get their speed 1 kit with their sway bars for the best deal.
This ZL1 is on DSE springs. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |

LG Motorsports sells knuckle drops for the C7 and they cost $3K. I think these (if they ever come out) will be more. Regardless of method, that's a lot of money to lower a car.

Perhaps, but they have to be strength tested, and are low volume pieces wirth R&D costs. These also retain geometry and roll centers, which not many care about. For the track rat it is money well spent. Not sure yet what the cost for the Camaro will be yet, but Vette parts usually carry a premium.

not IMO.
just do springs if you can live with 1" if you want more add the nuckle drop and then some other spring related drop. you will proabably lose a little performance if you drop too far but it will not be near as bad and don't it all with lost suspenssion travel. if all you truly care about is looks then coilovers are the way to go as you can ajust the ride height to your exact taste but the car will ride worse and possibly even handle worse than stock depending on level of coilover and amount you drop it.
