Dome light question

Do me a favor , at night look up at your dome light area . Is there a little LED light that just stays on ?

Yeah. I actually like it. It's just enough that the car isn't a black hole, but not enough to distract.

is it possible to turn this little light off? I think it was off and now it's always on.

It is the ambient lighting light, it stays on anytime it is dark enough for the interior lights to be in dusk mode. Otherwise the only other way to turn it off is to dim the lights down all the way. Or you can pull the overhead console down and un-plug that light.

I like the small light in the overhead console!

This was put in cars starting five or six years ago, when a lot of idiot customers complained they couldn't see their cupholders, and misplaced their big gulp at midnight.

That was the number one complaint I had when buying my car. At night that light is far too bright and actually reflects off of all of the metallic materials in the cabin. Extremely annoying and the fact that they didn't give us a way to turn it off is just boarder line ignorant. I shouldn't have to start pulling apart a brand new car to unplug stuff or put tape over something that you should be able to turn off.

It goes back even farther than that.
My 1996 Corvette has the same ambient light giving off a soft glow to the console area.

I have zero complaints about this mean machine... If I did, I would hope that my main complaint was that "major".

It goes back even before that, too. My 1989 Trans Am GTA has a small ambient light right above the radio pod that does the same thing. Since the interior was updated for the '85 model year, the light was there since then.
