Cams in LLT
Hi Guys, so im looking at upgrading my LLT heads with the bigger LFX intake valves but i also want to do cams, unfortunately due to my Crap country currency ZAR, i can never afford The Mace camshaft, but i did find out the LFX has increased duration and also is something i can afford! lol so is it possible to fit the LFX cams in the LLT? and if not, why not?
Or should i get my cams reprofiled perhaps?

Yes the alfa basically only has a 3.2 LLT but i bored it out and put in 3.6 internals so now its 3.6 LLT.
Apparently Fiat Group developed the LLT head for GM in exchange for their Alloytec global engine design, after the deal for Fiat Group to buy out GM fell through the floor GM has since redeveloped the LLT head into their own LFX we know today But, i digress, now about those cams....

Just had a look at the alfas technical data also and it suggests that the lift is the same, unfortunately i cant find the duration data but yes this supports the fact that only the duration is increased on the lfx cam, i read somewhere that the lfx oil gallery might be located at a different area but i dont know how true this can be.

You might want to also look into the LFX pistons also, as they have a higher compression ratio that the LLT. LLT is 11.3 to 1, and the LFX is 11.5 to 1 comp ratio.
