I have been wondering this for so long.

The ECU. More specifically, the coding

Hopefully the coding will be figured out soon. It's a pain having to have a dyno and companies to email the tunes. Takes awhile

Yes and no. Just because a human makes it, doesn't mean somebody else will always be able to crack it. Especially when it comes to coding. If someone wants to make something truly hard to crack, it's very possible to do. A perfect example of this would be the Dodge ECUs. They use a random coding that has been giving aftermarket tuning companies hell. It's been more than a few years and no luck yet. I think they're barely now starting to make progress with it.

In our case though, it's been cracked already by the likes of trifecta and IPF but it also comes down to companies seeing it was hard to crack, thinking there wouldn't be a big aftermarket for the v6 and moving on in the beginning. It wasn't until a little later after the initial release of the v6 that the aftermarket need was seen and by then, many companies had already moved on.

Although I'd love to be optimistic, I don't think very many of the big companies will ever crack ours. They already moved onto the 2012+ v6s.

Only you can decide which is better for you. There's ample information on both. If it's worth it to you, go IPF. If not, then go trifecta

I don't think its cracking the code that's the problem is the amount of tables that needs to be changed that stop other companies from putting out handheld and so on.

Probably not gonna happen, IPF only tunes their FI setups.

It's a trade off. I already have a trifecta tune but I may be going with an IPF one soon to see if there are more gains

I'd definitely go IPF now if I was gonna do FI. RX and Trifecta can't get it done
