18" ZL1 Replica's

In my search for a 17" or 18" wheel for drag racing I came across a wheel company who have the means to reproduce a wheel. They said it is possible to copy the 20" black 10 spoke we have in a 18. (I didn't ask but I am sure they could do the polished version as well) I am curious to know how much interest there is out there for this wheel to be produced. If there was a enough interest we may be able to persuade them to build it. If we were successful would there be better specs then a 9.5 wide rim with 40mm offset? 10"+ wide?

Yes I am pretty sure it would be made overseas.

I'd only be interested in 20", nothing less. I believe there is a 2013 stock 18" wheel that has a similar 10-spoke design but does not come in black.

I think everyone is missing the point of this thread in the ZL1 section...

...of course everyone would like 20" ZL1 wheels and they ARE available (at a price of course)

What the ZL1 folks need is drag wheels that ARE NOT available to match the front wheels that they already have.

I would be interested as long as they will hold up to the intended abuse. The last thing I want is the center to break out on launch because they used an overseas supplier that used inferior material and bad processing. As an engineer for a bearing company I have seen that side of the coin. I have also seen excellent work and quality from overseas but you have to be very careful and in most cases supply the material ready to be machined

I think a number of companies are working on 20" replicas. I suspect we will see them on Ebay in a few months if they are not already available. I am suggesting we ask to build a 17 or 18 for us guys who are casual drag racers and just want to run drag radials on the rear and still look good while having an evening of fun. I would expect the same quality controls that replica wheels have now. Serious racers will obviously purchase high quality front and rear wheels from a number of the well known wheel builders.

I will not be marketing this wheel. I am only looking for interest as to convince the developer to build them at a reasonable cost for us to enjoy.

I have sold a bunch of the 18" replica Z06 wheels for the SS and still can't get enough of them.

I guarantee you these babies will sell like crazy for the ZL1. Your guy would be nuts not to jump on this one.
