My question to the masses " what if GM just designed the seats without the Recaro branding" ?

Does it really matter that they are actual Recaro's ?

I see with the C7 competition seats that they got away from using the Recaro branding

know about the others, but the name makes no difference to me at all!

What attracts me to those seats are the extra shoulder strap holes, the Alcantara inserts that match the existing 1LE suede wheel and shifter knob, and last but not least, the extra bolstering that not only works great for the driver on the road course, but look cool as well.

Not if the manual seats don't have height adjustment.

I test drove an SS with std seats and then a 1LE with the Recaros. There is a big difference in driver support in the turns. I thought the salesman was going to crap himself when I hit the corner hard...hehe

He recovered when I placed my order ....with Racaros

So what do you do if the "extra bolstering" doesn't fit your back and I don't mean swap them out for regular seats.

Can they be bent outward a bit or will it break?

Does Recaro build different sizes or are we stuck with the skinny mans version?

Skinny man's version ? Lol

No they can't be bent out wards without some kind of distortion to the leather..

Let me tell you a fact. When you fly airlines like Air France in Economy class, the seats are typically sized to fit the average male in that part of the world. The same goes for some of the USA airlines, their seats are sized to fit the average male there. Guess which seats are slimmer in width? You got it, Air France. Do you know why?
You got it, it's diet

Now I'm slim myself, and I can tell you the Air France seats are too tight. I'd welcome the larger seating of a North American airliner anytime, with seating designed for the average overweight male in mind.

The regular SS seats are designed with that in mind as well.
The Recaros are not.

How many drivers do you know in the professional racing world that are overweight?
I don't know any at all.

Bingo

Bingo
I started to add to my post that I didn't want to hire a "real" driver for my car. I really want this car but don't want to lose the cool seats.

It's just the bolsters too. The seat pan is fine but I'd have to stick a pillow behind my back to keep those things from jabbing me in the side.

I fit fine in US coach but anything overseas has been business class so didn't know Air France was even tighter. Guess I need to get on a diet quick.
