Not trying to insult scrming's ride but I think the Ford Flex is really ugly. The Traverse is pretty nice though.

Why not keep the Camaro, and pick up a cheap used SUV? You could get a high mileage 2009 Traverse for around 15k... or a mid 2000's Ford Escape for under 10.

You can always buy a Camaro when the time is right. Traverse is an excellent multi-function vehicle. Neighbor has owned one for more than a year with zero problems. They love it. I drove one for a week while my SS was in service for multiple problems. Enjoyed it very much.

You've experienced Camaro ownership. If it becomes important to you, you'll find your way back. Do what's best for you and your family. Do what makes you happy. Try not to be influenced by people you've never met.

No insult taken what so ever! Ford designed the Flex to be either a LOVE IT or HATE IT vehicle... So completely appreciate the people who think it's UGLY!

Do they have the 3.6 LLT engine? How many miles? Do a quick search on: Traverse timing chains....

While I think the decision is ultimately yours, I think your best option would be to sell the Hyundai and replace it with an older SUV like a Traverse. I'm guessing unless the Elantra is brand new your wife won't consider an older SUV a downgrade, maybe an upgrade even, and you'll still have the Camaro to enjoy. I used to always buy trucks and SUVs as my daily drivers but after I replaced my Corvette with my Camaro it is so much more comfortable and pratical that I drive it every day...my Hummer only comes out when I need it now.

Don't get me wrong... Really like our Acadia and the timing chains were covered under the 100,000 mile warranty... BUT, still was a hassle and then there was the fear of the chains going out after the 100,000 miles warranty... which is like a $3,000 repair bill!

That being said... as soon as we got our Acadia back from the shop, I immediately traded it in on a 2011 Ford Flex with the EcoBoost! The EcoBoost is the 3.5L twin turbo... 100% stock I ran 14.2! With just a tune from Livernois (thanks, Rick!) I'm now running mid-13s all day long! And it shocks the SH*T out of people! (to put it mildly!) LOL!

Man that thing is UGLY! Sorry...

Well, I traded my 2SS in for a 2011 left Over Traverse. I have 5 total members in my family and it has made a big difference. Now, when we take the 1,000 mile road trips, the younger kids don't complain about "NO ROOM" or "NO CUP HOLDERS" in the back seat of my Camaro, they now fight over who controls the tempature in the back....lol I can't win.

I love the roomieness of the Traverse...but I will tell you, I really miss my 2SS.

Good luck

Should have bought an SS to begin with and then you wouldn't be looking to trade it in LOL Granted an SS probably won't do well in LI winters buttt I doubt the traverse will either. All the best.

Good luck! Trust me, it's not easy to make that decision. I was going back and forth the past few days on what to replace my SS with and finally made the choice to stay with the camaro. I still have fleeting thoughts about it but they have me one coming so hopefully I'll be in it within a few days. I miss her!

Whats wrong with you people saying the Traverse isnt bad!?
I'd probably go into a deep depression and jump off a building if I traded my camaro for one of those! Come on! Keep the camaro!
