Chevrolet Complete Care for Oil Change?

Anybody using Chevrolet's Complete Care program for oil changes in the first two years, 24K miles on their Z/28?

I'm approaching 1500 mi and time to change the break-in oil. I expect it should be included in the Complete Care, but need to find that out. Also, did they only install the UF48R filter, or will they install a PF64, if you ask? I expect that may be pretty much dealer-dependent. May not help that I bought mine from a dealer 150 mi away.

another debate here...the UPF48R is the factory fitment however the Track sheet says to use the PF64. All of the Z06 guys have used the UPF48R for years 2006-2013 Z06 with the LS7. I personally use the PF64 all of the time. Local parts chains like Advance Auto and Autozone don't stock the PF64 so I purchase them from Amazon. A member here called the GM hotline and had an engineer tell them the return drain holes are bigger on the PF64 so that is why that is the filter of choice.

My dealer just changed my oil and they used the UPF48R. Not saying either is better, but I will be doing my research before the next change.

I am using Chevrolet's Complete care program, It's my understanding that it is 3 or 4 oil changes only, 2 years time or 24,000 miles. I was told that I could have them change the oil as often as I want until I have used up the free oil changes. I have 9,500 mile on my car getting ready for my 3rd oil change at 10,000 miles, didn't know about the filter differences
they installed gm part #12626224, I checked the cross reference to AC Delco and it is a PF64 filter
I hope this helps you.

That's my experience as well. I went into the dealer at 500 miles and asked to burn one of my free oil changes. The service adviser thought my 1LE had the Z06 engine and upgraded my oil to Mobil 1 synthetic by accident.

Like I'm going to have some Bozo at the the dealer changing oil in my Z/28.
The more I stay away from a dealership the better...

Get a set of Race Ramps and do your own changes, for peace of mind! That way you know for sure all 8 qts came out and what filter you really want to use.

Silly thing with me is I like to take the apron off and clean all the trash it collects. and it gives me the chance to check for bad things like leaks, loose fastners, chafed sensor wires and the like. I was to the understanding that the pf64 filter is used for the 15w50 race oil and the upf48r is used for the 5w30ep. As the two filters have different bypass psi and filter media.

Fixed it for you. Another reason to do it yourself. Not everyone will know to pull both oil pan plugs then top off your motor with old fluid still in the pan or worse in your sump.

What would you all do? I went ahead and had my oil changed this past week and after reading this Thread. I found out that my dealership went ahead and used the oil filter GM 19303975. Is this going to end up being a problem. I guess it can be used on the ZL1 but not the Z/28. I just need some advice if I should make an issue on this oil filter.
