Why turn off the "nannies" with normal driving?

I've seen several posts about turning off the stabilitrac and traction control with normal driving. What is the point? With these on does it limit the output of the engine? If not than what is the point of turning them off for normal street driving? My stabilitrac has kicked in more than once when I've been driving in the rain so I think it's a good thing.

I never turn mine off unless I find myself on a nice abandoned road.

Everyone somehow equates turning them off with acting tough or doing bad things

I turn mine off, often. I learned to drive on high torque RWD cars that were designed in the '60s. I know how to drive. When the rear end slips a bit, I'm already correcting my steering inputs and throttle before the nannies take over. Then they cut in, mid-correction. The result is that the car jerks around.

I don't like it. Not one bit. So off they go. Never had any problems even in cars that make much more torque, at much lower rpms than an LS3

Personal preference.

Some people like not having the computer adjust for their driving.

I cut them off if I want to spin the tires a bit but in daily driving there is no reason to have them off at all. I don't push it hard enough to spin the tires on my trip to work and back.

I'd like to ask a few of the guys that ended up in a ditch or sign or tree or building if they liked having the nannies off lmao. That's why people associate having them off with doing bad things, because it just opens the door for those things to happen.

Turn mine off also if a person cant handle driving high performance cars they should not own one but if you like to leave the nannies on thats fine too ! Thats the reason they have on off switches !

It's basicly training wheels so you dont end up "off the road" If you don't have much experience with a RWD car with the HP/TQ to send you off the road I wouldn't reccomend it unless you are in an open area.
