Final word of thanks from Oshawa
To the members of Camaro5
Today marks the official end of production of the Oshawa built 5thgen , at approximately 12 noon today a shiny ZL1 VIN # 1850 rolled off the line closing the final chapter for Oshawa and its world class Camaro production . As I'm sure most of you already know , the all new 6thgen has begun its production run in Lansing Michigan & on behalf of the entire Oshawa Build Team I would like personally pass on the torch to the men and woman of Lansing who I know will do a fantastic job , and continue to uphold the proud tradition of Camaro Its been an honor for me to have been involved with this vehicle and to be a part of automotive history , from the early CTF 5thgens to todays last Camaro its been a hell of a ride & I wouldn't have missed it for the world I've also had the pleasure of meeting many of the folks who have shown up here on C5 , & have developed many life long friendships. I also look forward to the different Camaro gatherings throughout the year & hopefully will be able to attend more in the coming years. This vehicle has brought so many people together , the many Camaro clubs throughout North America have also allowed me the opportunity to send signed Camaro Team posters to their events , as well to raise money for different charity's they sponsor . It gives me great satisfaction knowing that our signed Oshawa posters helped Children's Make A Wish , Wounded Warriors , Veteran's Hospital's , Juvenile Diabetes , Big Brothers / Big Sisters ..and the list goes on . And that to me it was worth every minute I spent doing the Lithos , Posters , signed engine covers ,rad covers ..etc I believe in total I sent out upwards of 2000 items over the course of 6.5 years . Its been a blast In closing I'd like to thank the entire crew here at Camaro5.com who have allowed customers and fans the opportunity to meet , chat and develop friendships & for some will now move forward to the all new 6thgen . The bar has been set and I'm confident that everyone here will continue to enjoy the thrill of this legendary car . Thank you for supporting GM and Team Camaro I send warm regards to you and your families from Oshawa Ontario Canada & Happy American Thanksgiving Cheers Mike Judge Super60

My '12 1SS LS3 daily driver still feels as 'tight' as it did the day I bought it. Job well done, Mike.
And....GO OSHAWA GENERALS!

I get goosebumbs reading that.
Lansing has a high bar to reach, but having already been building the Cadillac, I think they've proven that they're capable. I wish there were some way to keep all the men and women of the Oshawa facility fully employed, it almost seems unfair to pay them back this way for a job well done, but the real world doesn't work that way. To each and every one that contributed to the function of that facility and it's fantastic performance and track record, and for giving us the Gen 5 camaro, there are not words that say enough.. Thank you for a job well done will have to be enough. I sincerely hope that the future holds great things for you. |

My family has owned three 5th gens, all three were very fun and very reliable rides
You guys built a quality vehicle and would have no problem buying another GM product from the Oshawa plant. Good luck going forward, the 5th gens will be one to remember. IMO the best looking and objectively the best performing Camaro's since the late 60's/early 70's. |

A huge thanks to all the folks that went into building an awesome car. Just remember that Camaros are spread all over the globe making people smile whether behind the wheel or seeing one pass by.
My Camaro is all the way over in Beijing, China and just today I had a kid walking by do a double take run back and take pictures of my car from every side! Just little things like that happen every day and it wouldn't have been possible with out the hard working people who made it all happen. Thanks in return! |
