New Camaro LT1 A10 owner
Hey all!
After 7 years without a fast toy I finally decided to pick up a 2022 LT1. My last car was a 2002 Camaro SS H+C+I boltons. Had a 3600-4000 stall, 3.73 gear and some weight reduction. Best 1/4 mile of 10.9@123mph with a 1.5 60' Very fun street/strip car, loud and obnoxious! I do miss it and wish I never sold it but here I am today with an LT1. My first impressions of the car... It is so quiet I cant take it. One reason I got this one is it has the NON-NPP, so it will be easier to pick the full exhaust system I want. But right now it sounds very tame. The AFM/DOD has GOT to go. At least temporarily I will get a range unless someone can tell me if there's a way to keep it off until I can get a real tune. By the time I want a tune I will probably remove the whole AFM/DOD system and install a cam. I went WOT a few times and I'm impressed with the quick shifts of this A10. I'm wondering how a higher stall TC would do in this trans. I know Circle D makes them but I cant find anyone who's installed one yet |

Just to manage expectations, the cabin is fairly well insulated, so don't expect a deafening tone even with an aftermarket exhaust. My car sounds like absolute freaking thunder at WOT, but it's nowhere near that inside, it is loud but you can still hear the passenger all right [as they scream and beg you to slow down].
One quick tip, try folding the rear seatback down for more volume and better exhaust sound inside the car.

Congrats to you, I know your going to learn to love it. Let us know your thoughts after driving it about 2500 miles. Got close to 20k on my car and I still love driving it, very civil and just enough noise with the Borla s touring mufflers and runs low 11s.

Hey Dynamical, if and when you make some baseline passes, what track will you be going to?

I will be looking into a full exhaust system. I love Borla but I'm looking for bang for buck. My 4thgen had headers, GUTTED (to pass visual) catted Y pipe and into a Borla non-adjustable. I may go that route again with gutted cats IDK yet. I may look into Jannetty for tuning and other stuff. You used him too? Also, the 10L80 is tunable now? I noticed it didn't take much work for you to get into the low 11s. That was another strong point for me to get into this car. Also you had a 1.6 60' which is pretty damn good considering the stock stall speed is only what 2400 or so? Quote:
First thing is to shut this AFM/DOD crap off temporarily until I can get a real tune and/or get the whole system deleted with a cam install. So maybe a Range and full exhaust. I'm not really into beefing up the interior right now. Maybe later Quote:
Thanks jamala! |

Congrats! Welcome to the LT1 Club.
What do you think about the A10 so far? I love how 1 - 2 - 3 shifts at redline The engine will get loose after break in and pull even harder. Don't stress too much about the AFM, we still have years of warranty. |

So I put the back seat down and at WOT it sounds pretty good for a stock car but it definitely needs full exhaust to sound good all the time. I think turning off the AFM/DOD will help the sound as well.
I love the fast snappy shifts this A10 does. Can’t wait to make it louder and faster! This car moves out really well for a stock car https://rumble.com/v2z4k6k-camaro-lt1-a10-fun.html |

About the AFM, I want to mod so that means my warranty will be gone. We’ll see how it goes |
