Keep stabilitrac on for 1/4?

I am going to the track tonight and was wondering if any of you guys have raced your car with DR's keeping the stabilitrac on but turning the traction control off. I'm wondering if it will make a difference. I would rather leave stabilitrac on if I can so that if I hit some slick oil somewhere on the track the computer will save my a$$ and my car. Thanks in advance

If you hit any oil you can kiss your ass goodbye! Ive never tried it with stabilitrak on but I think most will say shut them both off. And after you bounce off the wall go slap the starter for letting you go on an unsafe track!!

Gd luck!!!!

I think I will try both ways. If it makes no difference in my 60ft then I will leave it on. I think it could save you from kissing the wall.

That's prob the best bet. I don't know if anyone with as much power as you has ever tried with it on. Let's just hope for no oil and no wall kidding tonight! I'd be curious as to what happens.

You dont think it will hurt anything to leave it on do you? It just activates when your rear gets sideways right? My thinking is that it should never show up unless my rear decides to go East while my nose is pointed North and if that does happen breaking something might be the least of my concerns.

I don't think you'll have any issues leaving it on, but I can't gurantee it. There really is no reason it should activate because you won't get sideways. The only thing I can think of happening is going from a dead stop to wot might make the car think some wierd stuff is happening.

If left on and your tires break loose at all torque management will kick in and you'll lose power

just make a run with just tc off and see what your ticket looks like.
Then make a run with tc on to see what you get.

Well there goes that idea. Now I can only pray for a good track and decent weather. Its 80* /humid here right now and the track is 1000ft above sea level:( but i'm sure some have it worse. I might still try it once. I'm about to head out there now.

Looks like you could go anywhere from high 11's to mid 12's with your parts.

If it makes your feel comfortable to leave stabilitrak on then do it.

Just make sure that you line up in the groove for your launch. Are those Nitto drag radials?

Well so I officially suck. I definitly need some more seat time. I only got 5 runs in because they shut down the track for repair. My best run of the night was a 12.6 with a 1.9 60ft. and that was right before they shut the track down. I never even got to play with my psi. Tires still had like 38 in them. I was trying to get my launch RPM where I liked it and kinda get the feal for the track. I was going to start messing with PSi right after that 12.6 run. My very first run of the night was a 12.9 with a 1.8 60ft @ a whopping 82mph. I just completely let out of it for some reason right at the 1/8 mile. Dont ask me why, I dont even know. I guess it was because I havnt raced one of my cars at the strip in over 6yrs and was a little green. That run would have been a 12.4 run for sure had I not been an idiot. Sad thing is that my full bolt on 4th gen ran low to mid 12's without so much as a valve cover or intake manifold removed.

Even If I had managed to play around with my air pressure, with the mph I was getting the best I could have probably got was a 12.2 with a 1.7 60ft. I am thinking that there was something going on with the car tonight. I really think it was pulling a butt load of timing or KR or something because I expected my mph to be about 5-7mph more. The car just didnt feel nearly as strong on the top end as it normally does. My car usually pulls from 60-120mph pretty violently and it did not feel that way at the track. On the way home I did a couple highway runs from about 50mph+ and it felt scary fast like it usually does. I even broke traction on the highway pulls. I think maybe because it was having to idle so much in traffic it was doing this. IDK. Everyone was wainting like 20+ minutes between runs. It was pretty crowded. I was the only 5th gen SS out there. There were so many new Challengers there you would have thought they were having a meet or something. Same with the 05+ Mustang. There was a modded 2010 GT that I really wanted to race but never got a chance to. I think I counted 4 other F-bodies racing.

My racing slips are below. My 12.6 run was against a modded 4th gen LS1 SS that I think was boosted. I really thought I was going to loose that one but he must have been having issues as well.time slips.pdfDon't look at my RT. I was looking at a girl on that one.

Look on the bright side, you have some solid ET's to improve on.

I've been running my stock Pirelli's at 25 psi FWIW. I've been getting 1.94-1.97 on stock tires, I'd think with Nitto DR's and some converter high 1.7's should happen.
