Chasing Horse Power with money, richest win

Watching all these new $85,000 cars come off the assembly line with 800 HP is mind boggling to me, but hey if you have the money that's your choice. Also I read all these threads about spending big bucks to get more HP, again that's your money so do with as you please. For me, my stock SS is plenty fast and there will always be another car faster no matter how much I spend. Maybe if I was at the track it would be important, but I don't go there. Does anyone agree with me?

Sounds like someone's getting flak for having a "slow" car from his friends.

I tell them mine's paid for, and that someone's always going to be faster.

I agree. For myself, I'd rather pick up and old 4th or 5th gen Vette, or even a 3rd or 4th Gen Camaro and chase horsepower with greasy hands and bloody knuckles. It's just more fun and satisfying that way.

Anybody can just drop a car off and swipe a credit card.

Not much you really can do with 800 HP when you're sitting in traffic.

I can rip most of those cars when the light turns green because of reaction time.

Whack it up to the pee limit of 35-45 and I'm done. If they fly by me after that I guess they must have a lawyer on retainer.

For me. ...it's about making my car what I think it should be to begin with. A tweek here, a nudge there. Just those little things that make the driving experience a little more exciting.

Actually none of my friends have fast cars. Yep, mine is paid for as well and I love it.

Failing to understand why you started this thread if that's truly how you feel....

Remember "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". Some of us just want to go fast!
