Wind noise coming through closed passenger side window
Good morning all! Does anyone else have the problem of wind noise making a sharp shrieking sound coming from the passenger side window when either it's particularly windy or going a decent rate of speed? I checked the door and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the seal. When it's happening, if I crack the window just an inch or so the noise will go away.

Is the window indexing properly? Does it move down a little when you open it and then when you close it goes back up?

Yes, indexing works as expected. Great question!

Does it seem like it is compressing the seal evenly? Maybe clean the window and wipe a little Armorall on the seal.

I would use Vinylex on rubber in lieu of Armorall.

This could be a sign your car door is a bit off alignment. Don't panic. It happens. Get to a dealership asap, it'll take them about 5 minutes and probably won't even charge you.

This is great information! I have noticed it as well, but on the drivers side. I am going to clean the seals on both sides this weekend and see what happens.

I noticed my passenger window making wind noise. When I looked closer it looked like the front portion of the glass was lower than the rear half, so much so that the glass wasn't entering the rubber seal completely. I tried lifting the front edge but no dice. Had to remove the door panel, locate the point where the glass mounted to the hardware. Found I could loosen a bolt and pry the bracket up slightly, re-tighten the bolt, and tested the window. While I couldn't move the front edge bracket up much, it was enough to make a difference and now the glass fully enters the rubber seal. No more wind noise. The passenger door had been sideswiped and IMHO the shlock body shop didn't do a good job putting in a new door. Well, they said it was a new door, but judging from other corner-cutting repairs they did, I probably have 10 lbs of bondo on that door.

because my door is not aligned. glass seals, but it is higher on the inside than the dash. heard it was common, but wasn't sure about being covered under remaining warranty. |

have said ..it could be the window itself or the rubber seal having an issue. |
