P0449 now covered by GM

I just wanted to let everyone know about a common code P0449 in 12 model year SS cars. I brought mine in and the dealer said that code has special coverage under GM and it will be fix at no cost to me. My car is not covered under the factory warranty as it is now 4 years old since it was built in 11/11. I have 33K miles on it. It seems a lot of people have had to pay for this so I wanted to let everyone know.

I received a letter from GM in December 2014 stating that some 2012 model year Chevrolet Camaro vehicles may have a condition where an evaporative emission canister vent solenoid valve may not properly close. It's cover under warranty within 10 years or 120K miles from when I bought the car.

I don't think I received that letter for my 2012 conv. I will keep that in mind if the issue comes up
