the ss would have to have supporting suspension mods but i dont see why one of lethal racings 500hp n/a monsters couldnt take a stock zl1 with the right supporting suspension/tire mods

im cam only and street tires, makin 461/423 and run a 12.0 . thats on a 1400 da day. so ya a fully bolton cam heads would put a hurt on a zl1. in my opinion. but its gonna be close either way. this is drag racing only tho.
the extra weight and heat soak is killin the drag racing side of the zl1.

For a drag race, not true. My KB Camaro was making 550+rwhp and no suspension mods and I was doing fine.

I would line my SS up with any stock ZL1, I think it would be a good race.

A "race" is a bit vague to argue. It takes much more than increased hp to compete against a ZL, aside from aesthetics the cars a very different.

Personally I feel a cammed SS would rip apart a ZL1 in a straight line. As a matter of fact a cammed SS would keep up with a GT500

Ya a big cammed ss is gonna take a stock zl1 by a little bit! A head cam car would kill it. As long as were not talking a 13 gt500 then ya I would still put money on the SS! Add a few goodies to a zl1 and the Ss is getting killed though!

I've beaten several ZL1s with my bolt ons setup. It's all about getting off the line fast.
Wouldn't want to try one at any other race than a 1/8 or 1/4 mile drag. |

I believe it, a bolton car with tires at the strip would be tuff to beat for a so so driver in the z.

As for a ZL1, I think a vell prepped boltons SS can take it. A cammed one is a sure win.

Makes me wish I would have bought an SS and thrown the extra $$ into mods. Oh well, too late now. Just have to mod the ZL1 I guess.

I think it just depends on, the day, track and driver. The best fast list for a stock ZL1 so far is 11.7, and with a few bolt on's low 11's ...
