For those of you who own an SS, or even a V6 Camaro, Chevrolet Performance will be offering many 1LE components starting in Q2 so that you can upgrade your car. The 1LE suspension system, 3.91 gear set, and ZL1 brake kits will all be available, in addition to other high-performance components. Attached below is the link to download the 2013 Chevrolet Performance catalog.

The 1LE suspension was developed to compete in SCCA T2, and it definitely increases the capability of the Camaro. As many have pointed out, it beats several much higher-priced vehicles at the track (see the recent Car and Driver where it nearly beat the GT500!). In addition, it has been designed, engineered and validated by the same people who developed your Camaro so you know the fit and quality will be right. The 1LE is a balanced package that works extremely well.

I'm probably going with a GT500 or a C6 ZR1 (prices should drop, fun shouldn't). The Mrs and I test drove a GT500 AFTER we had purchased our 2SS/RS. That thing could scoot.

On the way home tonight, a stupid 13 GT500 is at the light with me. Thinking I want to run him, he revs, launches and almost loses it. I don't race with my family in my car, but it was fun to see the idiot almost plant it in the median.

I wasn't convinced it was a sound trade until I went and drove a 1LE.

I started the search for the 1LE I wanted immediately and traded in the 2010 in 2 weeks.

Yes, the extras from going from the 1SS to the 2SS were nice, and then getting the HUD and the Electric PS and the NPP option was very nice. But I could instantly feel that the car was more performance orientated because of the suspension and the gearing.

If the 1LE had been available in 2010 when I bought my first Camaro ... I would have gotten the 1LE.
Glad to hear that you love the 1LE. What is your most favorite feature on it?

I had a 2010 2ss/rs and to me it's NIIIGGHT AND DAY!! now someone coming from a 2013 SS to a 1le probably wouldn't get much other than a better shift feel... but man oh man... if u have the option to get one... just do it...

Besides for a little better handing in my opinion because of the tires mostly it isn't that much of a difference.

I upgraded the suspension before the 1LE came out, and it is good. Not sure how it'd compare, but I am thoroughly satisfied with my ride. The 3.91 gear ratio is another thing. I love this ride as is and I don't feel the need to install 3.91.
