Zaktek Paint Protection

Tomorrow I go down to get my 2nd yearly Zaktek paint application. Do any of you have that plan for your Camaro? Normally I wouldn't bother with it but dealer put it on my contract after doing 1st coat prior to me picking up my 2013. So I paid for it, might as well.

It can be a pain because the car has to be absolutely clean, wheels too, otherwise what on the paint gets seal in. So tomorrow morning detail, detail before heading down.

Sorry, never heard of it. 6 years and IOM paint is still good, wax it once or twice a season. Garaged or covered 99% of the time.

I think it's what dealers to to give the car an extra layer of sparkle before you take delivery. Some dealers offer paint protection service contract & others put it on your contract for the car & don't tell you till you get to finance/warranty office. That's how my dealer did it, inscrutable.

After I told the service manager & he wrote on the windshield, and told porter to tell detailers, not to put armor all on the tires. THEY STILL DID! Grrr.

Nice! I wax my vert in the winter while stored, a bit at a time.

When you wax do you mask off the plastic vert trim & door sill molding. I do, just in case.

Why do you store your vehicle in Phoenix?

I have a classic Buick I use Nov to May that doesn't have working a/c. That also helps me keep the miles down. While it's stored I do take it out for a monthly spin to keep things in check, run a/c.

It's mighty cool switching from 1985 to 2013.

Today's project, to take the tire dressing off that idiot dealer put on, even though I asked not to put it on. 2 buckets & 2 brillo pads later.

Oops, missed your question. In the garage. I flip them for driveway duty.
