I agree but I am holding out hope for this new title. Its built on an all new game engine designed around the new Xbox. This new title will probably be the last straw for me on whether I divert away from COD or not.

From what I have read it is not a mw4 like everyone was expecting. It is developed to grab battlefield players over or back over to the COD platform. Obviously its going to be a huge success and one has to look at how these shooter games are developed. I will use COD for example...
There are three important stages to making lets say Black ops 2. 1) Probably least important now a days...campaign. Campaign used to be the reason we all bought games. We would play over and over and campaigns used to last for hours on end! Now they are shorter, just utter crazyness and the majority of players are moving to other parts of the game. 2) Zombies...there is a huge crowd for zombies. So when they developed this game they needed to tailor around an improved zombie play that will keep players intrigued for hours on end. What other game modes can they come up with like zombies? 3) Multiplayer...This has always been the holy grail of any mainstream FPS game. COD was inovative in the past by being the first to start challenges. This is usually the point at which people love or hate the game. I personally think the people that usually hate it aren't good at multiplayer or have a specific niche they like. Unlike Halo COD is more solo strategy. You dont have shields and relying on teammates is often worthless anymore. Halo you can take a lot more hits and often running around with a team is going to give you a more positive outcome then solo. So when we look at how they come up with a game, we must understand that these games now a days are so complex because they are trying to hit a huge audience. Not everyone is going to like it. The developers are trying to find new ways to get people who dont like it intrigued back into the game or people that have jumped to a different game (Halo or Battlefield, etc). I believe that this Ghost game needs to have a new edge. Vechicles in multiplayer? New challenge structure? Different game modes? Different types of weapons? Is it going to include improved quick scoping for the 12 years olds! No pun intended but I feel like every night I get into a lobby and the ones that quckscope haven;t hit puberty yet. What do you want to see in this game or dont want to see? |
