my poor car

happened tonight at around 8pm... driving home from work... dude runs a red light and hits my passenger side.... front.... front bumper is smashed... light seems fine... fog light broken... rims scratched...passender door scraped...

i don't get how he ran right into me... car took the hit well i must say... guy admits it... police showed up etc... got a witness that was behind me... saw everything... and got his info also...

any pointers dealing with ICBC and the personal insurance from ontario anyone?

thanks,

I'm glad you're both ok. Now time to decide...ZL1 conversion or same front end?

Val, hate to see that happen, hope you're o.k.

Bottom line, sue the guys a$$ off, these people have to be made examples of that driving is a privelage and not a right...a right to drive like idiots.
What he couldn't wait another 23 seconds, when the light will be green again.

Sue, up and beyond the repairs, that way we'll see you driving a ZL1 this summer

Glad you weren't seriously hurt, take care buddy.

Report it to your insurance company and give them the info you have. Get your estimates for repairs and submit to your insurance company. They will go after the other fellows insuance for damages on your behalf. Also remember you are not obligated to go with the lowest bid from the body shops and request new parts be installed as opposed to replacement parts they may obtain from a wrecker to keep the cost down.

Forget about sueing unless there is personel injury, tommorow that could be you. Shit happens, get the repairs done at no cost to you, and move on.

Maybe try a dealership that has its own bodyshop. I'm sure if you payed any cost difference they would install an upgraded front bumper.

Main thing is you're okay, but the guy responsible has to pay for what he did and make you whole again. Hate to hear of this stuff happening to anyone...

sorry to hear man. Glad your ok. Could've been worse. Make sure everything is replaced, learned that lesson the hard way with mine mine was repaired like shit. Anyways it depends how your insurance does it and how your body shop does it. If they're cutting you a check. You can order whatever you want. That damage is at least 3-4k
Fender bumper grills, argue or new headlight, say the tabs are broken and deep scratched. Etc etc
Find a shop that hopefully our members go to and get them to quote it for you and hopefully they'll swing the zl bunper for you

thanks for all your help guys its much appreciated and i welcome your replies...
i am trying to get the ZL1 conversion done but the shops here are very picky about doing any sort of thing outside of what it came with stock because of ICBI...

how are the differences and what issues for doing the conversion? is it just a straight simple put on?
