I remember when I imported a Chrysler into Canada. Needed to have a rear seat baby seat connection. When I was having the auto inspected in Canada to get it registered, the guy pulled a $6 part and dropped in it the trunk. He told me the auto had to have the part, but government instructions did not say it had to be installed (LOL). So wait to get any modifications installed until you are in the US. Remember here in Canada GM charges a lot more then you will pay in the US.
Ok, thank you. Im thinking thats what I might do. They want $60 for the part here, it MAY come by the 14th and I leave the 16th...If I want it expedited then Im looking at another $60---> End of the day I'm looking at between $220-$280 for a symbol I already have on my dash (but my new one will have a circle around it!)

Would a P.O. box work? I need to get a SSN ASAP, that was my plan till I have housing sorted out.

Also, Im heading down with workboots, some tools etc...I don't think they'd buy it

I think the only main difference between our cars is the imperial system and light markers. Other than that you should be fine.

The Metric to Imperial is just a system setting in the DIC...what light markers do you mean?

Do you have a passport?
I've got my Canadian passport. I don't even have a SSN at all, Ill need it to start working though, so that is happening day 1

I'd rather not lie to CBP, I really don't need the hassle and I know they'd love to give me some

Your car will be just fine and as many have said, wait until it becomes a problem before spending the money.

Do you have your USA work permit and a place to stay yet ?

One thing to check is the warranty. I have no idea if this is true, but I have read other forum members claim that US dealers wouldn't perform warranty work on their Canadian Camaro. That might not be as much of an issue if your car is more than 3 years old and most of the warranty is gone.

Exactly. I'd be more concerned about them turning you back because you're going to take an America job. Make sure you have a visa/work permit etc.

Did someone tell you, you needed special paperwork to bring your car there?

That only applies for the fir six months of ownership and 12,000 miles, which I'm sure he's long past.
