So glad I've got a Catback on my L99 and those are gone. A lot of people don't realize just how much those rob you of sound, likely performance, and of course being extra weight.

This is exactly why I was going to buy a used LS3 exhaust and replace mine with that. I already have the axle back on mine, and will swap it over to the "new" cat back LS3 exhaust.
In my case, with the vert, this will also eliminate the AFM drone eliminating flappers..... Decision made.......

Ok, since I've removed this on my L99... There is two things going on . The normal garbley semi back firing sound.... and then occasionally if I make a quick stop for a few minutes and then start back up again, a loud gun like back fire. Is that normal? I doubt it is.. I do NOT have a x-pipe, just straight on back to my Borla's

I have the same with a Magnaflow Tru-X pipe & dynomax mufflers & the drone isn't that bad until I get between 64-70 other then that it's quiet as a mouse at highway cruising.

Are yor using sport mode and the shifters? I noticed when I started up after it would back fire the equivalent of a twelve gauge!
