Previous Gen5 owners Question?

Ok HOW much better is the Gen6? What would you have kept from the Gen5 and what's the most Improved Part of the Gen6 over then Gen5? OK anybody have regrets?? I'm a little angry with the Order process it's wait and wait and wait and wait then constraints and wait some more.

The ride......its a different, tight, balanced, chassis that makes it a whole new sports/muscle car. No matter what engine powers it.

I had a 13 SS.....

From my limited time in the 16, it's a different car. It's a Camaro, yes, but it's a better version of itself. The cockpit feels tighter, or cozier, but in a good way. You feel more in tune and a part of the car. It accelerates differently, it handles differently, it feels completely different. Going immediately from a 5th gen into a 6th gen within minutes, and you'd swear you've never been in that place, but it feels very familiar.

It's tough to put the differences to a pen, because there's so many of them, and so many improvements. I love my 2010, but I am putting an order in next week, and I can't wait.

Definitely the ride! It drives way better. Also the new interior. The seats are so comfortable. Love dual climate control and ventilated seats. Of course the obvious is the exterior styling. It's a head turner.

I went from a 2013 2LS to a 2016 1LT with the RS package. Like everyone else has said, it rides better, it's faster, and the interior is much improved. The newer interior almost seems more "vette" like compared to the 5th gen interior. I also like the exhaust note much more on the 2016 over my 2013, and I don't even have the NPP. The first thing my girlfriend said when we took the 2016 out for a test drive was that the exhaust note reminded her of the 1992 Z28 that I had.

Went from a 14 V6 to the 2SS, but have kept it well under 4k RPMs for now. It feels like a completely different car. It feels like a sports car. I would have been completely satisfied with the 2016 V6, but haven't had a V8 in a while.

I had both cars for a bit and decided to just give back the 14 so I have no choice but to drive the 16. Going from one to the other almost felt like going from an outdated sporty car built like a sedan to an actual sports car. It just feels awesome sitting there even without the car on the interior and the seating position... just everything.

The heating steering wheel and wireless charging are all nice touches, but wow I love this car. Not trying to knock the Gen5 at all either. The Gen6 is that much better. Considered picking up some form of a 2015 V8 with all of the discounts, but so glad I didn't.

The one thing I was disappointed about was not having front parking sensors... had them in my 2011 Volt and would be really useful in the Camaro. Previously had a C6, Volt, 2010 Camaro, 2014 Camaro.

I'm like you. I came from a 2014 V6 1LT. Mine was full bolt one except for gears. The power delivery in 2014 felt raw and unrefined. On my 2SS the power delivery is so smooth. I wish it had front parking sensors also. I'm thinking about installing a curb alert.

I didn't own or even drive a 5th gen.

But, I can fully commit to the handling prowess. The car feels like a BMW in the corners. The gen6 handling characteristics are very composed and refined. I find myself pushing corners far harder than I'd dream of doing in any of my previous cars. The car provides feedback and even when you feel a tire losing traction the car feels well balanced.

Very impressive chassis.

Things I wish I still had... bigger center console, cup holder that would hold my phone vertically, seats that fold all the forward, and a better Fav bar in mylink.

After trading in my 13 for the 16 it's a night and day difference. The ride for one is so much more controlled and smoother even in track mode. I have MRC but body roll is pretty much non existent compared to the gen 5. The LT1 makes torque everywhere compared to the LS3. 6th gear feels like 5th. The interior quality is miles ahead of the gen 5. Its refined yet raw at the same time. They hit it out of the park with this car.

Couldn't say it better!! Went from a 2012 1LT RS to the 16 2LT RS and there really isn't anything that's not improved, simply put it is just way more refined than the gen5!! The thing I find most improved is the transmission, it is so much more light and the transitions between gears are so smoth. The one thing I can think of off hand that I don't like is that the cruse control doesn't cancel when you push in the clutch like my gen5 did, going to take some getting used to for that.

Overall in all areas the 6th Gen is a better car. Chevy did a good job with this one and probably because they started with a better platform.

The biggest thing that drove me crazy about my 5th Gen auto 2SS was the delay sometimes between when I pressed the gas pedal and when the car responded, I noticed this a lot when I would start to brake coming to a red light and the light changed to green before I completely stopped, pressing on the gas again there was usually a delay before accelerating again.

Is this still present in the 6th Gen automatics?

This is in all Camaros still. You can fix it with a throttle controller though for both gen 5 and gen 6 cars and they run about 170 bucks
