Regardless, I expect that this will Z/28 to be sold pretty quickly as there only a few remaining in California that are currently going for over $100,000.

The dealer is probably celebrating that you cancelled your order as he is going to make a good chunk of change.
Lol.

I would bet that they're not. It's a non-ac car. I'd be asking my GM rep to buy the car back if it were one of our cars. I would never order a non-ac car for stock and would have no interest in having one on my lot. Bottom line is that GM cost a sale due to a shipping snafu and I'd be doing everything within my power to have GM take the car back.

I don't think there are a lot of Z/28 buyers left out there right now. I have #228 sitting on the showroom with no dealer markup and we haven't gotten any leads on it.

Epilogue: It arrived yesterday. So it wasn't "lost"; it was just too late.

Picked up a very low mile 2010 ZR1 from the estate of the late Andy Granatelli. It's not a Z/28, but it's red w/MANual, in "like new" condition. It's a lot of grins.

So if you're looking for the fastest/lightest version of the Z/28 built, it is available at Win Chevrolet in Carson. Ask for Jerry Pipen. Tell him Pat McSwain sent you.

I feel bad about pulling the plug, but I had no idea whether it would arrive or not. After 2 months past the build date, normal assumption is that the car is not arriving.

That is why I kept the faith for so long before giving up. I didn't want to stick a dealer with a "race" version that would be hard to sell. Only 7% of the cars were no AC, probably all ordered by racers.

The Stingrays were moved by truck, and plenty of them made it to dealers, even though they cost less. If it was trucking issue, the Z/28's should have been shipped first, especially the customer orders.
