Yep. Yours looks like mine would turn into if I continue to drive it.

It pretty much ruined my evening. It's crazy how fragile these seem to be. I really do think it happened from opening and closing the hood. Lots of people have been wanting to see under there.

I've only opened the hood 4 or 5 times.

I hope GM has some they can spare cause I will NOT be letting this car sit for extended periods of time.

And if they can't replace it in time. They're taking the damn thing back and giving me my money back. I've had the car for six days.

It looks like the ECF Hood inserts have a lot of QC problems. Maybe the painted ones hold up better.

or the covered ones (its a wrap not paint) just hide the cracks. These may just be cosmetic from the flexing of the hood but I haven't been driving hard.

If the fix is a new ECF and it does it again, and they replace it with a wrapped one, I better get my $600 back.

My painted one is perfect... I'm actually amazed at how easy it cleans up w/ no waterspots on flat black.

Sucks this is happening to you guys....

I just went back and looked at some of the pics I took right after I left the dealership with it. i.e. a 1/4 mile drive from the dealership to my office parking lot and in the pics of the insert you can see the cracks. It made it out of the dealership that way so it is NOT a function of driving it appears. I'm uploading the picture now.

This photo was taken pretty much 5 minutes after I left the dealership.

Just checked mine, I have a little bit of scuffing on the side of the hood as well. Not real bad like yalls, but I will keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse. Good looking out.

Good to know the batmobile is ok. I am somewhat relieved that on mine, at least, it appears to be a defective hood that made it thru QC (Which happens) and thru the PDI.

The picture I just posted on the second page was literally 5 minutes after the dealership with 5 miles on the car of extremely light driving.

So it appears to be a defective part that should easily be replaced.

Now I'm thinking of acceptable fixes from the dealership. I don't know if these can be polished out but if they can: acceptable.

If it has to be replaced I want it in writing that if they don't replace it within a certain time frame I will return the car for a full refund.

If the fix is to replace the ECF with a wrapped one, that's also fine but better come with a $600 refund check.

If they don't like that, then they can supply me with a wrapped one until they get an ECF one and then they can replace it in full with no $600 refund.

I still want to call Chevy's attention to this though so I will be calling customer service tomorrow.
