Doubtful. I'm pretty sure the car is making maximum power in 5th gear at 180mph. If not, its very, very close. You're simply going to need more power to get passed 180.

A Sprint Cup car makes around 500hp with a restrictor plate and they max out around 190mph by themselves (no draft) and they are about 4-500 lbs lighter and more aerodynamic.

You are wrong, the 6th-gen SS most definitely does have a speed limit of 180 set in the ECM. Multiple people have read the tune files of 2016 and 2017 cars, including myself.

I had mine at 170 and it was still going up, very slowly though. I do have the cold GM air intake which may give it an extra mile or two faster at those speeds.

Don't know what top speed might be other than Chevy's literature that says 180. I have no reason to doubt that since I've had mine at 160 and it was still gaining pretty fast.... however in all honesty, I was on a slight downhill slope and a very smooth road. I would think wind might start winning the battle at around 170 on the flat, and 180 would take a very long road.

lol. ok.... so the GM people aren't telling the truth? the GM brochure's are lying and most important, since we are a suppler of the Camaro line, my inside sources are lying too?
I have also read the file when my car was being tuned with HP tuners. I didn't see anywhere in there that said that. If you can supply proof that, its the case. I'll gladly crawl in a hole and apologize. (not meaning that in a rude way).
your right..

If someone told you that the 6th gen SS Camaro Coupe does not have a speed limiter in the ECM, then yes, that is not the truth. Below I will place a screenshot from HP Tuners reading my stock 2017 SS Camaro Coupe tune file. There you can see that the maximum allowed speed set in the ECM is 180.

well then.
that's all new news to me.
I apologize. I've been told by a number of GM people that it was drag limited and that it didn't have a limiter on them. I also thought that when they did an open talk with Al, he confirmed that it didn't have one. That's ok, not like we will ever go that fast on public roads anyway.

So were you able to remove or raise the limiter then?

I don't know what the drag limit is, might be there, might not. Interesting that the 'governor' exactly matches what the brochure lists for top speed of the SS Coupe though.

Yes, you can remove the limiter if you use HPT or some other tuning solution.

Judging from the rate of acceleration...

175+ totally doable

See link and YouTube. Official timing just under 173. It simply runs out of power to over come aero drag, it hits the wind wall... Not sure how others got to 187, maybe... But I paid 2k to run it on the space shuttle landing strip, which is 3 miles long and very smooth.... Stock 1SSLE and my foot was down to the floor...

Timbo-1LE, I think that the 1LE version of the SS is slightly slower in top speed than the regular SS. Chevy lists 175 for the 1LE and 180 for the regular SS for example. I have recently looked at a 1LE tune file and it had the same speed limiter set at 180 as the normal SS Coupe does. Reasons for the different speeds? The wider tires on the 1LE will create more drag for one. Not sure if the different rear spoiler (blade vs wing) makes a difference. I am skeptical that the front splitter on the 1LE hurts anything, it might even help. I have seen a guy with a 2015 Z/28 take off his front splitter at a speed event, and he told me that it actually went slower without the splitter. Seems that keeping air going over the car instead of under it is a good thing.

BTW kudos for supplying some real tested data.

Agree the tires would impact wnta1ss, it's sooo slow pulling the last few hundred rpms... Not sure if it would pull the last 400 with more road, what the mph would be, 180 probably, over that, suspect... as you would be at redline.

Until I can get to some wide open spaces out west I'm content with having hit the ton. Over 100 MPH on NJ roads is just plain a bad idea.
