Taillight blackouts
I'm trading my 2013 ZL1 for a new 2015 Z28
I love the taillights on my 2013, and am not a fan of the 2015 taillights, so I want to black them out. What companies and what products do you guys know of to smoke the tail lights and all of the marker lenses? Thanks, Rob

Just and FYI, and laws are different /interpreted differently per state. If you black out your taillights, then get hit or rear-ended you may be found at fault as you have tampered with a DOT approved lighting. Yeah, Yeah, people do it all the time. But the right officer that notices or attorney for the opposite party may use that against you......It has happened in MI.

Who cares what the tail lights look like? That's only the mustang view anyway...

I used Bigwormgraphix. I got the medium tints and I have no complaints at all so far, they look great and have held up to just about anything. I haven't noticed any difference in the lighting even in direct sunlight.
Although be warned the installation is kind of tricky. |

Ha! Yes, hopefully!
I'm going to test drive one tomorrow and make an offer on a brand new white Z28. As long as the dealer domestic try and jerk me around, I'm ready to pull the trigger. After all the feedback here and speaking to guys at the track and a few speed shops, it's a no brainer, as I LOVE to take these cars to the road track! I'm very excited and will report back for sure!

For what it's worth, I've never liked that "chrome-ish" strip across the bottom of our real tails. I bought black-out tape to cover it but haven't put it on yet. OP, that could help a little and also address any legal concerns mentioned (?)

I have seen stuff on YouTube about a spray you can spray on and they say it works great.

Tried the spray, came out like crap.... Used Big Worm on the 2010 & 2014 Camaro's and both came out great.

A local quality tint place can do them easy, also undoable this way.
