New to forum new ZL1

Greetings- Here is my intro:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335472

My first question (after coming up empty handed searching) is, how do I know what number (like 3 of xxxx) my ZL1 is?

Thanks!

Welcome. The last four digits of your VIN is the build sequence. You should also receive a certificate of authenticity in the mail if you're the original owner.

Congratulations and Welcome!!! The last four digits of your serial number will let you know what number your car is build sequence. For example; If your VIN ends in 0003 then yours is the 3rd one built.

As they said, the last 4 digits of your VIN are the sequence number for your model year.
For example if the last 4 digits are 2639, it means that yours was the 2639th ZL1 made during that model year.

If on the other hand you want to know how many cars with your color and options were made out of all of them made such as how many black ZL1's with ECF hood and Manual 5-speed trans, then that's a whole different thing.

If that's what you're looking for, GM themselves does not publish that info for the public, but once in a while someone gets ahold of the production details and provides a simple chart.

For the 2013 model year, Fbodfather did that a few months ago and posted it here somewhere, I just don't remember where he posted it. Perhaps someone else can find it for you.

For example, the chart lists (for 2013)
ZL1 Convertible, Manual Trans, Black, 303 made out of a total run of 7956

Appears in 2013, BLK accounted for over 34.5% of all ZL1's built. Like in 2012...BLK was most popular color.

Nice….My last four digits are 5000. I took ownership 2 dates before 2014 so I guess it makes sense. Haha. Mine is an Auto as well.

Wow! That means mine was 7778. Didn't really know they made that many.
