German Camaro Forum Fest 2015
Right - here we go again...
A couple of weeks ago the Camaro2010.de Forum held their 8th annual Camaro Fest. Like in the past years we met right in the center of Germany to gather around 250 Forum members with 160 Camaros mostly from Germany plus some of our fellow friends from Switzerland. 4 days of "fun and games" have been thrown onto an agenda to not only keep us away from sustained and excessive partying on the parking lot, but to enjoy our cars and see whatever the beautiful surroundings arround our Hotel had to offer. A couple of smaller cruises have been layed out to ensure everyone in the knew that something special was happening in the area around the village of Hohenroda. A place that appears to not often see the glory and hear the roar of 150+ V8s representing what has become a way of life for most of us - the Camaro... As one of this year's highlights a huge convoy started out on a 110mls cruise on Saturday. Imagine a 2 mile long convoy of Camaros driving through one of the most rural places in Germany including small villages, narrow roads and what must have been dozens of redlights and speed traps. Unlike in the past we managed to keep this convoy together this time almost perfectly. During the cruise I have seen people dashing out of their homes, grabbing a chair, watching the convoy and giving us the thumbs-up - admittedly some of the by-standers were more in "shock and awe" rather than realizing what was going on... For the ones that managed to survive that parking lot party Thursday night and get out of bed early a trip to a historic disused potassium mine has been organized to cover some of cultural aspects of the area. Other were able to participate on a guided drift training session on an airfield close to Eisenach. Not necessarily the most ambitious drifts were performed on that very day, but at least people were able to throw their "backends" all over the place, enjoy views out of the side windows and burn some rubber. As you can see in the pics and the video below - some were actually enjoying to only burn some rubber - but at least in style ;-) But as in the past the main highlight on the agenda was getting together, meeting close friends, welcoming new members and celebrating a community that has become far more than just people browsing a forum and sharing information around a car. Showing off and discussing the latest modifcations, exchanging stories around the Camaro were only the foreplay to what usually ended up being one big party on the parking lot. Enjoy the pics and videos - more to come I guess... http://vimeo.com/137682931

Wow, some beautiful Camaros in that group. Looked like one heck of a great time. Glad to see the Camaro gang across the water knows how to party it up with their cars.

That was one Hell of a burn out. The yellow Camaro on the right & the corvette either chickened out or didn't know how to burn rubber.

Nice production on the videos!
I was in Germany last and year only wished I had my car when driving on the autobahn. Love the beer and the women, oh and of course Camaros! |
