2017 Camaro SS 1LE can't burnout?
So to answer everyones questions. YES I know how to burnout, yes I have done many many burnouts in both auto and manual cars....
FOR THE LIFE OF ME I just can't figure out how to do a stand still burnout in this thing. I turned off traction control COMPLETELY (held it down for 10 sec). I've tried both in sport and track mode. also tried to do race mode but no dice... I rev the engine then dump the clutch and have both immediately applied the breaks or gave it a second before I applied the breaks. Sometimes I can do a burnout but 98% of the time I cant. Any suggestions???? ELSD stopping me? I've seen many many Camaros burning out, I think its a 1LE thing maybe I just suck that bad..... lol I mean if you all would like to try please feel free and come on over If anyone wants to see what I mean I have attached a link to a video I took about an hour ago. Yes on every try I put water down to get the tires wet. https://youtu.be/yyqBzv3efCM |

So you are trying to do a brake stand burnout? I mean my car will easily smoke the tires, so I assume this is what you mean. In all honesty I haven’t had the desire to burn up $800 in rear tires, so I haven’t tried. But it may be some sort of clutch protection or safety feature as the excessive wheel speed and application of the brakes don’t mix. If it’s that important to you, I assume it can be tuned out.

Are you pushing the brake too hard? After I smash the brake initially I ease up on the pedal enough to where it just barely holds the car still. Mine isn't a 1LE though and just has the standard brembos.

see that's what i was thinking to, i do and have pushed the break pretty hard i'm sure the brembos at that point are doing their job but i believe when i was able to do the burnout in that video i attached i just feathered it a bit to the point where it locks itself, its weird to explain but both times i was successful in doing somewhat of a stand still burnout the break pedal almost takes control to the point where even if i stomped on it it would only let me go so far.

That exhaust sounded really good though... What do you have on it?

wait, my 1LE has line lock, doesn't yours? That should lock the front brakes to allow for easy burnouts.
Edit. Nevermind. Thought it did, but the performance supplement is cryptic. Last edited by Cgocifer; 11-20-2017 at 08:35 PM. |
