Hey everyone! I'm Trevor, or Trev if you prefer. So I am finally doing it and saving up for my dream car, an all black Camaro 2SS. I'm going to buy a used one outright for the out-the-door price instead of financing one because for starters it'll be cheaper to buy it instead of financing it, and I am done with car payments altogether. This way I'll own the car entirely and not have to worry about late payments or repossession or stuff like that.

My credit is all but shot to hell so financing isn't even an option at this point. By buying it outright I can avoid the required credit check and trying to find a bank that will finance me because I'll have the money to pay for it entirely as opposed to gathering interest on the vehicle and making payments on it for 6 years. I'd only be paying insurance for it every month and gas and whatnot.

Now my question is, between the 2013 and 2015 models, which one is better? Which one is bigger? Which one sounds better? Which one looks better? I know it's all a matter of personal choice and opinions may be biased, but I just want to get a general consensus. I personally love the tail lights of the Camaro's from 2010-2013 as opposed to the 2014-2015 ones. If I could take those tail lights and put them on the 2015 I think I'd be sold right away.
For installing the 13 tail lights on the 15 Camaro, I would think you would have to talk to DIY5thgen.

Now...I am not here to start another 10-13 rear is better then the 14-15., but IMOP, I prefer the 10-13. But in the end, its all the same.

As far as the Camaros go, from 10-15, they are all the same size, same motors ect.... the only exception is the 1le where it has diff trans and a few other beefier rear end parts.

The 15 also has a smaller and wider hood cowl, so far from what I heard, its a bit easer to see out the front, it also has the vent in the center of the hood for better cooling and down force. Even though you could add this to the 13, the 15 already has it.

As for Hp, I would look for a Camaro with the NPP exhaust, then later add the Z/28 AI. The exhaust gives the Camaro the tone it should have had the 1st day it left the assembly line. And the AI will give you a few extra ponies, and the best part... its plug and play.

The other option would be the 12.... The 12 is the last year of the gage sweep, has no hill assist, has the revised suspension that the 13-15 have, it also has the updated steering wheel as the 13-15, and power steering- while the 13-15 has electric. I just find the 12 to be the odd ball in the group, that's why I bought 1.

Good luck.

As long as it isn't a V6, who cares?

Your car...your decision! It does not matter what others think unless that matters to you.

Peace

If you're buying used, you want to look at condition and mileage. For me, the tail lights mattered. I just loved the look of the 2010 -2013 designs. I also wanted a V8, and the wife wanted a convertible. So, I was in SS territory. I found an absolutely beautiful 2011 convertible, Inferno Orange with white racing stripes. The kicker was that it had only 3200 miles on it and was garaged by the previous owner. I also was buying from a dealer, A KEY ISSUE IN MY OPINION. Why? Well, even though it had low miles, it was near the end of it's original warranty. Dealers have to give you a 90 day warranty. Thank goodness. With the 2011 convertible models, there were some issues with the water management bag and the fifth bow. Unbeknownst to me, these were in need of replacement. Had I bought privately, I would have been stuck with about a $2000 bill for this labor intensive fix. Thankfully, the dealer had to repair all at no cost to me. Other than that, I LOVE my low mileage SS Camaro. I don't mind not having the MYLink screen. In fact, I have read that that screen tends to cover one's view of the gages near the shifter. Also, you must decide if you want Auto or Manual. In my opinion, Manual is a heck of a lot more fun to drive. Best of luck to you.

Buying it outright seems like the better choice for me because I don't have to do a credit check or wait from approval from a bank or have to have a cosigner.
If you really have that kind of income, there should be a reputable bank that will lend you money to help you rebuild your credit rating. You may not need it now, but if you want to ever buy a house or get a loan in the future, you will be glad you did it.
And you could get the camaro sooner :p

Once you have 30K or so saved, see what you can find then.

In March, I got my 2015 with 0% 72 months from GM. There are plenty of 2015's on dealers lots... Try and strike a deal... I got a white one... was not my first choice in color but I got 30% off MSRP...so a white one it was... I had to drive 3.5 hours to pick it up but at that kind of deal, it was worth it.

I was able to put money down but I'd rather keep mine in the bank and use GMs cash. With bad credit, you might be able to put a 30% down and still get the rest of the load at 0% for 72 months... Maybe stop by a dealership and ask.
