What should I do about my stereo?

I just got a 2013 SS. I want it to go faster. So the first thing I need to do is tear out the Boston Accoustics P.O.S. speakers! Chevy should be ashamed for passing these off for premium speakers...

The on-board software is, as usual, utter crap. But it's workable. The worst thing about it is that it's only got a freaking 3-band EQ... So, I basically want a better EQ and better speakers while keeping everything else stock.

What are my options?

The reality is that the stock speakers really aren't that bad. The stock amp (and the EQ'ing done inside that amp) are the real weak point. An amp swap does wonders for the stock system.

Best of luck.

To keep the radio itself stock but get better equalizing options, phoenix gold system is prolly the easiest option. I went another route (have the base stereo) but that was a consideration.

There were vendors selling the system on here at one time.

I had a 2010, I swore the next one I get I will upgrade the sound.
I have a 2013 now with mylink. I went will the subth@@@p 12 inch sub and 600 watt amp, OMG what a difference, Well worth it even if your not into Rap music. Im a rock and roller and I love the upgrade. make sure you add the woofer gain knob inside the cabin.

I have a thread where I list my parts.

Removing them will net you 40 or 50 more horsepower, quite easily. Then it will go faster. If you remove the floor mats, that gains 10 HP per mat.
