Color Options...Color Options....
I have been debating on colors as I am going to order a ZL1 in the spring, and while I thought I was good with upgrading to the new blue from imperial blue, I find myself unsettled. So, I have narrowed ti down to 4 colors:
1. Red Rock Metallic - While I'm not usually a red car kind of person, I enjoy how crisp that red rock looks. It is red in darkness, while under direct sunlight it turns orange. It is very unique. I also love the depth of the color. 2. Velvet Blue Metallic - I am a sucker for blue. This looks "close" to imperial blue, but contains accents of gray and a purple. I was not a fan of Blue Ray Metallic, and for me, the jury is still out on this one. I also love the depth of the color, and know how nice a blue can truly look. 3. Ashen Gray Metallic - I love this color. However, a lot of the ZL1s I see are this color, and I would like to be "different" 4. Summit White - While I"m not a usual fan of white, I find that I enjoy the color contrast with the black 10 spoke wheels and any black accents that you can add. My issue is that I am concerned that you can't create any real depth with white paint, especially white that lacks any metallic flake in it. What are your votes? I would appreciate hearing some other opinions. Thanks!

I've always been a black car fan. Every car black. Then....I saw a zl1 in summit white. Best looking color combo imo. Followed closely by blue.

Blue Velvet. It looks miles deep.
Only way it could be better is if it were the Night Race Blue as on the 'Vettes.

a zl1 in any color looks great but everyone knows the black ones are the fastest.

I really like the White because the makes the ZL1 features really pop. My next one will be white but, the Crystal Red Tintcode is absolutely stunning in the sunshine if I say so myself.

If it is at all possible to be subtle in a ZL1, and just blend into the background?

I think that you want to get what ever floats your boat. With that said, I believe I would look at the ZL1 registry (it's online) and see what the rarest colors are. This would help it keep its value. If I'm not mistaken, one year only a couple silver ZL1s were manufactured.

I have the Blue Ray Metallic on my ZL1 and I love it. The different flakes in this paint gives it all kinds of depth and the different hues it gives off is amazing. I haven't seen the Blue Velvet in person yet but I have seen the Red Rock Metallic and I think the ZL1 wears it very well. It would be a very tough click of the mouse button when ordering that's for sure. Either way, congrats on the ZL1!! You can't go wrong with any color on it.
